I also don't see anything wrong with Tort's new line-up. We don't have a lot of depth and when someone like Gaborik gets hurt - it really affects the strengh of the whole line up. And you can see why he wants to keep other lines intact (at least for now). The only other option for the 1st line IMHO would be to place your remaining three best players on the same line which would mean Frolov-Anisimov-Dubinsky but I would not do this either for multiple reasons.
Separately, I'm so glad that Sauer is back. I think it means that he is replacing Eminger who should be the proverbial 7th defenseman every night. I might have missed something but against Colorado I didn't see him make a single pass or clear out of our zone that got to a Rangers player. And he's not good without the pack either.
I think whatever lines we put up are going to be quite the same.
There will be a plethora of penalties in this game and all will be mixed up.
Callahan more or less promised vengence for the injury to Gaborik - a la Reggie Dunlop - in the post game interview after we lost in the home opener.
So I can see this game getting downright real ugly - & fast. I expect a brawl.
Eminger is probably in the lineup only therefore (Gilroy = very meak).
Boogeyman is going to have to earn his paycheck now. He has definitely not done it yet ( imagine he has earned $ 78.048 for a sparse 14 minutes of icetime so far - no penalties - nothing. That is like $334.491 per hour!!! in salary). For the icetime he presently receives - he makes a whopping $10.000.000 (compared to someone "elite" playing 20 minutes per night) per year. Now that is a problem... Anyone with half a brain can realize that...
Boogeyman, Prust, Sauer, Cally, Boyle, Dubinsky, Eminger and Avery are all going to have to show their nastiest sides to neutralize Burkes goonies.
This game cannot arrive soon enough. Me & Dagoon will like this one.
Goon it up guys... Go down swinging if things go bad on the scoreboard. This may be a way of unifying the team and actually resulting in a better unit prepared to walk on fire for each others in the future. That kind of attitude could go a long way leading to much better scoreboard results. Seen it happen many times before. And no - I am not joking...
Syracuse Beware - The Chiefs are coming.
Would love to see it but this team and its coach has proven gutless so far...I think its more likely Torts spreads his labia and wraps his players in the warmth that is his system
Makes me sick that this clown is so much on Eric Christensens pole that he continues to utilize this waiver fodder in a top line role.
It's bad enough Ryan Callahan (whom I love) is now a first line winger, but now Brandon Prust is a second line winger as well?
For christ's sake, any combo of these guys is going to look ugly, but it looks like he just throws darts at a board.
Christensen is more talented than most of the players on this roster. Not saying its a good thing, but its the truth. This team needs someone to make plays, so its not difficult to understand playing EC where he is.
How can you say that?
We iced several fan favourites then including Nylander, Sykora, (the wrong) Hossa, Prucha, Orr, JOrts, Hollweg, Kaspar, Toots, Poti, Struds and Weekes. Imagine them all on the ice at once.
Staal - Rozsival
Del Zotto - Girardi
Sauer - Gilroy
But that would mean Sather would have to pick up the telephone and do some work...
seriously I am a loyal Ranger fan, but the lack of moves from our GM and Coach are just straight mind-boggling, do they like to see us suffer?
We lost our top offensive player... lets replace him with garbage! MZA should be called up and given a shot, playing prust (who i like) on the 2nd line is a joke.
There are a million other examples. Don't get me strated on the rosters we fielded late in 03-04. Why bother with overdramatic exaggeration?
Jagr is missing. Yes he did dislocate his shoulder, but still. That 1st line w/ Jagr is better than any line we've had in the last 2 seasons. All 3(Straka,Nyl,Jagr) were way over 50pt guys. Prucha was a 30 goal socrer in that season. Sykora came in as a player on pace for 50+pts. Production wise that team was not worse than what we have today. No way.
