Ugly game.

At least the Laughs also lost their game. It makes me feel better.

Wow, really? I didn't see many quality scoring chances other than Gionta missing the open net. There was ZERO net presence tonight, and any NHL goalie looks good when they can see every puck, especially when the shots are repeatedly coming from 10+ feet out.

Played much better in the 3rd period but still could not get it done. Not surprising against NJD.

Do you guys think we need a trade for a dman or a top6 forward to shake things up?

Why don.t we wait for our best player to return before making any moves?

When he does return, will it change Martin's seemingly unwillingness to put Eller or Pouliot in the top 6?

They should just fire Jacques Martin ( im serious ) , not because we lost , because they shouldnt have hired him in the first place , and dont start with last years playoff

You mentionned trading, nothing about Martin... you don't even follow what you're saying?

No, but one thing follows another. If Martin won't put eller or pouliot with Gomez and Gio in the top 6, do we trade for another top 6 forward?

Does that solve itself when Markov comes back?

He has 2 top 6 forwards playing on bottom lines, how would a trade change that?

because he doesn't seem to be giving them the opportunity to play in the top 6? Martin has shown that he has prefered playing vets in the top 6. Even pyatt ( one of his favorite), only got 3/4 of a period on the top 6 before he got moved around again. So what if we trade for an experienced top 6.

Do I have to spell everything out?

And where do you find the cap space for your magnificient move?

Ummm, by trading players?

Are we serious right now?

My complaint is very simple. We have the talent/players to fill a top6 role. However, JM isn't willing to use them. So either, we give eller or pouliot some playing time for trade Pouliot in a package with picks to a cap strapped team like NJD.

In terms of simple dollar amount. It's very easy to work out. A deal centered around pouliot, picks and prospect to NJD for a guy like David clarkson.

Pouls makes 1.3mil and david clarkson makes 2.7mil. we have 0.7 mil left in cap space. So when Markov comes back, we can either send down Obyrne or Picard which would free us 0.95mil or 0.6mil respectively. You can either send down Eller to the AHL to give him playing time or send down Darche which would make the deal possible and NJD saves over 1mil in cap space. I'm not saying this is THE DEAL. But it's definitely possible to trade.

It looks so easy, I wonder why Gauthier hasn't done that yet!

Like I said, that wasn't the deal.

But there are internal and external options that should be looked at. I'm just frustrated when Eller gives it his all, looks good in the game, and still get a limited role when he has the talent to be on the top 6.
