I don't see what we can give them in return and both teams are up against the cap.

Yeah, but what else do you expect ? He plays on a westcoast team, so most of them have never seen him play.

However, Spacek for Bieksa, I'd do.

The unfortunate thing is, Vancouver will need to move someone when Salo returns, so that's out of the question and so should Bieksa.

Obyrn + 2 of Spacek's Chin ( about 1.8M$) for Bieksa.

Works for both sides

Meh, I'm more interested in Burrows than anything else, which is why I said "where do I sign?"

I'd see him playing with the double G instead Pouliot/Moen/Darche/Pyatt/Youppi...

We should make some Spacek Gifs. Bieksa would look like Scott Niedermeyer next to him.

P.S. I don't hate Spacek the individual. The hockey player tho, don't get me starting...

Burrows is one of, if not my favourite player. Hard work goes along way for me.

Seeing as though Vancouver is up against the cap, this is the only possibility. We would then have to hide Spacek's contract in the minors then. Maybe Redden bering sent down is the beginning of a trend in that direction, the idea that even "okay" d-men are susceptible to being cut by their respective teams.

35+ contract on Spacek, can't bury him unfortunately.

Because he is. However, Vancouver doesn't have an elite defenseman to pair him up with. They have a bunch of good ones, but if he were to come here and played with Markov, he'd probably look decent.

Plus his facial expressions when mad are ****in' hilarious.

He isn't that bad, maybe so far and a change would do him some good.Canucks aren't off to a great start and I doubt Bieksa is the one to blame for that.He is a +/- 0, Edler is -4,doubt they wanna trade him or blame him for anything and IMO the worst D on that team is Andrew Alberts but that's my opinion

Hamrlik looked fine, he's played well for a guy that's missed all of camp. Sapcek and Gorges were awful last night. Gorges was to blame on the 1st goal and had numerous giveaways, Spacek is too hesitant out there.
How dare you speak of captain Kelowna Norris candidate Gorges around here like that?
He's only the best defensive defenseman in the league and our PP QB, have u seen the awsome goal he scored the other night?
And again according to most on here he should be playing with Markov as our number 2.

Video doesn't say Montreal has been scouting Vancouver games.

Dreger says that Gauthier was spotted in Chicago but that that's not unusual for him. He then says rumours from other GMs would seem to indicate that Gauthier is looking for help on the blue line, at which point Dreger throws out Kevin Bieksa as a guy rumoured to be on the move.

Well if you can't bury him, i don't think trading for another big contract is possible. Nobody is going to take Spacek. Ever.

Maybe Gauthier is looking for another home in the US?

Then you put the correlation together with the fact that when Salo returns someone will need to be traded and that Montréal could use a physical presence on D, since Martin doesn't like O'bryne.

Point blank: This is not happening unless we send a significant salary off our NHL roster.

Both teams are at the cap. Unless they plan to loan Spacek (I say that due to salary being the same as Bieksa) to Europe or the AHL, this trade is not possible.

They could take him on if Markov is on LTIR, but even if he is, they'd be absolutely screwed in a couple weeks when Markov returned.

Not to mention having 9 NHL defensemen on the roster.

Pretty sure he can be buried. He just stays on the cap if he retires. We can still send him to the AHL or Europe.

I'd like to know....whoever is incredibly thrilled to have him....when is the last Nucks game you've seen? 'Cause like some said, for the past few games I've seen lately, he's not going to upgrade the speed on our backend and is OFTEN caught flat footed on top of how average his skating is right now. He might give Spacek a run for how not that good they are both players.....Not sure I see the upgrade here unless we do get rid of something we DON'T want....Not even something we're not too sure about.

But I wouldn't be surprise to see a trade like that. We need more speed on D OR a scoring forward....we go and get Bieksa.....Makes sense.
