LA-BUFF trade idea

Just wondering what Buffalo fans thought of the following proposal in terms of fair value.

LA- Vanek and Stafford to play wings on Kopitar's line
BUFF- D.Brown, Jack Johnson, Teubert and LA's 1st rd pick?

This is basically based on the fact LA needs a true #1 winger to play with Kopitar and Buffalo may look to reduce salary as Vanek has struggled the last year or so.

The Kings would never do that.

I mean, I don't want to part with Vanek, but that trade offer has to be instantly accepted by the Sabres.

LA should throw in Kopitar to balance it out a little more.

As a Kings fan I really appreciate what Brown brings to the team. He's cut in the Dave Taylor mold and is our captain for a reason. JJ has ALOT of potential but for some reason continues to struggle to put it all together. IMO Teubert will be a bottom pair dman that brings toughness.

Vanek would be the first legit top liner to play along side Kopitar. These two would likely elevate Kopitar to a 90-100 point player and Vanek back to a 40+ goal scorer. Obviously I'd like to keep Brown and offer Stoll and Moller instead, but to get a top liner you got to give back substantial assets.

I imagine most Kings fans would think your proposal was crazy, did you post it there?

Considering that Chris Thorburn has Vanek tripled up in goals scored thusfar I don't rate TV's trade value as being at an all-time high...put it that way.

His contract is what detracts from his value. Super stars are paid 7+ million, which Vanek is not. Most teams are not going to be looking to add that kind of salary, and overpaying to do it? Nah...

It's his contract that destroys his value. That proposal is quite one sided but I do think Dustin Brown is overrated.
