Ottawa should/should have taken him. Lehner needs to go back to Bingo ASAP.

Too bad we missed Greiss.

I cant believe he hasnt been claimed by another team. He's better than a LOT of the other backup goalies, and available for cheap.

This is why I wish we would take him.

I always thought he was a serviceable goalie and never felt Quick really beat him out in a hands down fashion. I think LA just wanted someone in net till their prodigy could be NHL ready and they handed the reigns for that assignment to Quick.

I'd be surprised if all 29 teams pass up on him.

It all depends on how committed he is to the KHL. There's no point in picking him up if he's just going to take off...

I would thing he would get claimed he is a good young goalie for what you would be paying him you can't lose. Would be a god pick up for Chicago. Even if the kid doesn't play in the NHL you can let him mature in the AHL for a year or 2.

I respectfully disagree. Like the other "awesome" backup, Thomas Greiss, I haven't been all that impressed with either of them. After I watched Ersberg last year I was nearly positive he wouldn't be in the NHL this year...

Ohhh he's definitely going to be claimed! Why did LA do this and not even try to get anything out of him?! Blah blah blah...

Obviously Terry Murray disagrees with your assessment of Quick and Ersberg. Murray had no faith in Ersberg last season, it's the big reason Quick played 72 games last season. Quick got burned out because of it too. Quick was the well-deserved starter last season.

Erik Ersberg looks a lot like Ellen Degeneres. True story.

Just to add, the Kings released Ersberg upon his clearing of waivers.

Reminds me of Norrena, not because of his style or anything simply because of how serviceable he was. Gave you glimmers of hope
