It's about time for Meszaros to steal Carle's job...something that I called about a month and a half ago.
Being honest, Carle HAS looked solid before he started playing with Pronger. No reason to start trading everyone around. Bartulis has been average in the 2 games he played
Some other team can pick him up and we'd be out of another d-man.
Is it just that we still have his cap hit and can bring him back at any time, this is just for playing time purposes? Or did you mean that he can be picked up while he's loaned and not just on re-entry?
Isn't that what happens when you waive someone? So there is no difference?
What I mean is that some other team OUTSIDE the Flyers organization can grab him. So they just send him down instead of letting some other system grab him. Bring him up when we need him.

Bartulis isn't the guy we should start looking to make room for.
Gustafsson and Lehtivuori are coming around nicely. I'm not trying to overhype anything, but I'm starting to get excited about those two.
I don't think it's too lofty an expectation to have Gustafsson or Lehtivuori manageably fill Carle's role sometime between now and the end of 2011-12.
I'm particularly excited about Gustafsson's offensive potential. Doubt that either will be significantly better than Carle if better at all, but they will be younger, cheaper options.
Count me in as someone else who is confused about the difference between loaning and waiving. If he's going to the AHL and he's past the requirements for waivers then he would have to go through waivers, right?

Ok I think you are answering but not in the clearest way. Is this what you are saying?
Waived:
Sent down, unless claimed by another organization (this is my understanding of being waived).
But what constitutes the difference? What circumstances lead to one versus the other?
Because otherwise, nobody would ever "waive" anyone, they would "loan" them.

So I'm not sure how this is possible.
Not sure if this is the case, my guess is that Bartulis probably still counts against the cap even though he is playing in ADK. So he is getting playing time but we can't make a move or something and replace him. Not saying this right...total guess.

That was my guess as well. Strictly a move to get him playing time.
Carle was good early in the season. I missed the past 2 games, what happened or is everyone just in negative Philly mode because we've been bad lately?

He has looked pretty bad when he has been put back with Pronger. Not pitching at the right moments anymore, alot more turnovers, and looks kinda lost while playing defensively. It is ashame though. I was starting to like him when he was playing well. Now he looks like the same ol Carle.
