so was the game plan to score early and sit on the lead for 59 minutes?

Well, we did it... I don't know how half our defense is in the NHL, but we did it.

0 in the loss column through 7 games. With all the injuries I don't care how you look at that. It's impressive.

Did not watch the whole game, but from what I saw, Pekka sure earned the first star tonight. Stars threw the kitchen sink at him and could not get anything past him. D gets credit for helping decrease the quality of those chances, but their were not enough going the other way. Whatever was going on clearly this was not a first class effort by the forward corps tonight.

We dont even look like a team that should be 4-0-3. Wait til Suter, Goc, Lombardi and were gonna be that much better. Rinne is amazing

One has to wonder if Dumont will ever get out of Trotz's doghouse

God I forgot how stressful listening to games on the radio is.

Oh well a win is two points and over a team that might be fighting for position come spring.

^^ This. Don't get me wrong, I love Pete & Terry, but I love them MORE on TV. Callahan calls the game with less "extra conversation".

Anyway, that was the best game I never saw.

Lower body, day to day per Trotz.

Klasen had another 2 pt performance tonight, now has 6 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. 4 points in the past 48 hours. Came into tonight tied for the league lead in goals...

Is Klasen defensively responsible? We all know what Trotz will require of an offensive minded player. Could Klasen grow into another Radulov? I can't remember any prospects having the start in Milwaukee that Klasen is having. We never had the chance in camp to see how he would fare against NHLers because of the injury in Atlanta. I know not all AHL snipers can produce in the NHL, but some certainly can.

Watch Klasen play. He has dynamic talent. He is not your average AHL sniper like Peverley or Gamache, this guy has legit skill.

Trotz is not going to kill a dynamic offensive talent, but he will ask for some minimum defensive responsibilities. Come back in your zone, cover a point, and get the puck out when it comes up your wall. You do that and Trotz will gladly accept your contributions at the other end...

there's no sense calling him up though. Trotz will plant him on the fourth line, give him a look on a scoring line, and if he doesn't score in his first two shifts, right back down to the fourth.

Channelsurfing's feed was impeccable tonight, got to see the whole thing -- so I got to witness just how badly we were dominated throughout this game.

Dumont injured...no offense to the guy, but he couldn't contribute less on IR than he was at the moment, anyway. That whole line has been pretty bad. Wilson has been pretty disappointing to this point -- I had high hopes that he'd take it to the next level, but it's not happened thus far.

No offensive rhythm from anyone tonight. Sullivan was our best forward, but on the whole, we were chasing them through all three zones throughout the night. I was shocked that we weren't outshot by more...definitely drastically outchanced.

Pekka looked great after a shaky game against Pittsburgh...but he also had some luck in the form of Stars missing open nets. Legwand and O'Brien both made nice plays to save what I thought were sure goals.

Speaking of O'Brien, another solid game. O'Reilly was good as well.

Weber was...okay...but he really looks like a different player without Suter. Klein had an alright game. Sulzer and Franson were worked over all night. Definitely victims of the last change.

I understand the thought process behind dressing 7 d-men...but after Laakso only saw 2:30 of icetime, I was left wondering if SK might have been a better option. Guessing that's what we see tomorrow.

Going to need a better effort tomorrow...maybe even win a game by MORE than one goal, and not give the fans heart attacks for 2 and a half periods?

Rads had 6 goals and 12 assists in 10 games in MIL before being called up to Nashville in Jan. 2007. Klasen has 6 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. If he continues on this pace, it's going to be hard to justify leaving him with the Ads.

If I remember correctly our 06-07 roster was stacked when Radulov was called up. Our current roster is replete with set up guys. I've heard over and over that we need finishers. Pretty sure that's why Linus was brought to camp from the SEL.

Does he play on special teams, PK or PP? Seems like some of his goals were PP goals.

The second period sucked for us. The first went our way with too many exchanged chances. The third felt like try to reverse the crap of the second and somehow hold onto the lead.

I'm still not sure that Shea's initial shot didn't bounce out of the net before Cal tapped it in from the goal line ... but a goal is a goal. Pekka with some great saves and even better luck. The PP had maybe 2 decent rushes, no full good shifts. We still can't get a breakaway into the net. The PK got lucky.

Some issues to fix, but another win without major parts of our lineup.

Bed time .... got to play Army for a few weeks starting in the morning.
