Richardson for president

great entertaining game.
But the 1st line has to change something.
Loktionov needs more time in the AHL he have the skills but isn't fitting right now.
Let's see what Parse can do

I'll play Kurri....

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but the 2nd line was the only line not to get a even strength goal last nite...coincidence??

Who was it that set up Richardson on the SH goal? Can't seem to remember

That must have been Stollsby.

Who sent up Richardson for his first goal?....o yea Schenn

Who stepped up on the play forcing the turnover for his third? o yea Kopi...

Bottom line is the biggest complaint the "anti-Stoll" crowd have (I'm a local party leader) is that he doesn't produce 5-on-5. Stolls assist was a hustle play (a nice play as I noted in the GDT) and hustle play you see from 3rd liners.

Stoll gets on the score sheet and people are complaining? Really? It's like you're holding it against Stoll that he wasn't even on the ice for the other 2 Richardson goals.

There was more to the SH goal than just hustle- he made the correct read to get to the right spot on the ice for the intercept and made a decent enough pass that Richie could one-time it.

He's got 5 points in 7 games, mostly in 5 on 5 situations. That production is fine for his position (2nd line center), certainly not worthy of complaints.

I was positioning him below the line, you are right, he was above the line, I didn't see where the puck was, but again, recalling it, I don't think it was on the goal line, it was still above the goal line, I wouldn't mind seeing it again though to be sure.

No, but making one play happen does not secure your spot for the rest of the season, either does one decent 7 game stretch. Look at Stolls numbers the last 2 years.

09-10 47 pts....only 25 of those pts were 5-on-5 no way is that up to snuff.
08-09 41 pts....only 19 of those pts were 5-on-5 are you kidding me? That production is fine for his position?? Were gonna need more then just Kovi to cover that hole up.

Agree he wasn't good last year, but he does have 60 pt potential as he demonstrated with the Oilers. As of right now, he's playing a solid 2 way game. As long as he keeps up his current level of play, I don't see why people hate on him.
