I think, and have thunk since he got here, that Christensen is pretty awful.

His "offensive side" that a lot of people speak about really only comes out when he's on a line with a superstar...so...

I've never been sold on him and I think he's a goner when Drury, Gaborik, and Prospal are all back.

In addition, what is your opinion of god awful? Frolov may not be racking up the points but he has been playing pretty decent IMO, just needs to shoot more.

Frolov when he's not playing well is not a liability. When he is playing well hes a huge advantage.

And saying Feds brings more to the table then Frolov is flat out stupid
Well said. Thats exactly why I'd rather have Frolov. When he's "off" he's not going to hurt the team. In fact, when he's not scoring he seems to play better defense from what I've observed. On the other hand, Christensen is just awful sometimes when he's having an off night, awful on both sides of the puck.

This.

He is not zherdev at all... Frolov is a much more complete player who competes game in game out. Sure hes not scoring as much as we'd like him to but the guy plays strong on the puck and against the boards and has been pretty good defensivley if you as me.

Only a fool would agree with that statement.

Frolov has always been above-average in his own zone. He's a beast along the boards, and has great stick-work, tipping passes and eliminating shooting/passing lanes. He's very responsible defensively. He wouldn't have been a regular on LA's PK unit if he sucked in his own zone. He's done a fine job killing penalty's for us too.

Do you actually watch hockey????

I think I'm going to go create a thread asking the fan-base if they prefer Girardi or Gilroy.

Frolov >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EC

Gilroy's actually one of my dark-horses

Seriously though, how is this even a thread? EC played well and put up points playing alongside Gaborik. Whhhoooooptttteeee****ingDoo! Gaborik's one of those players that can make Voros look like competent hockey player (true story).

Frolov is a two-way top-6 LW, which is pretty much exactly what we needed (aside from a top-line center, an enforcer that can play hockey, and some brute on defense). He's on a cap-friendly 1-year deal, and he's not an old dinosaur. Assuming things go well for both party's this season, he could easily be brought back on a 3~4 year deal.

EC has no balls. He's Yea, we do need skill, but we need it on a consistent basis. EC plays well when he's confident, but goes through stretches where he's almost completely ineffective. Hate his contract. Wish we just avoided bringing him back.

This is a silly thread to begin with because its not like we have an abundance of talent, but if i had to chose i would go with Frolov. Christ showed that he would not step it up down the stretch in the clutch situations. Frolov on the other hand is the type of player that takes a little longer to hit his stride because of his style, but once he comes around he will be very effective on many nights. I would not mind putting Fro with Anisimov, seeing how a Russian line with Prust might work out. Than put Christ with Dubi and Cally.

I don't hear anyone complaining about him defensively. Other than you.

Just so there's no confusion, Frolov isn't #44.

2)Frolov works the corners/boards really well and is not a defensive liability.

3)The one edge I thought I'd give to EC would be passing, but to be honest I think Frolov has had the nicer feeds

4)I think if either of them pick it up and have a great season, for EC that would mean he ends with 50 points (something he's never done before), for Frolov that would mean he ends with 65 (something he's surpassed before).
I don't know why some people think EC is a defensive liability. He's not.

I'm also with others, I don't know why you'd make this about Frolov vs. Christensen being out of the lineup when Boogard and White are the two players who should clearly be out.

As a Kings fan I find this thread quite amusing...we went thru years of similar debates on the overall worth of Froloaf. Half cried when he wasn't re-signed and half cheered to see him gone. When Crawford was the Kings coach he decided to read War and Peace to try and figure out what was going on in his mind...

Frolov has played a very effective defensive game and we've seen flashes of the board work skills he is lauded for. He just needs to get more comfortable in his shot.

His goal last night was a fluke, but he was at the right spot at the right time and the right things happened.

Not saying EC hasn't been playing good- i'd just take Fro if it came down to that.

Christensen would be out of the lineup. The Rangers aren't paying Frolov $3M this year to be a healthy scratch.

Granted.. its only been a handful of games. But I think i'm the only person who sees value in what Christensen brings..

And Frolov... has been god awful in my opinion. Even with his freakshow goal last night.
Just NOT impressed... Fedotenko brings more to the table than Frolov.

Thoughts?
There's not one thing that EC does better than Frolov

Is this a serious question?
