I'll agree to this 99.9%. Phoenix gets me happy/angry because I have Bryzgalov on my fantasy team, and in the league, getting a win is often the difference between earning positive and negative points for the night from him. So when he loses or gives up a goal while I'm watching, I usually yell some expletive out, but that's really it. After the game is over after he gets a loss I won't feel disappointed or anything. Otherwise, like you said, the other teams don't effect me ever.
thats awesome, im in two fantasy leagues and i have brodeur as one of my goalies and he is killing me so far. I must say that upsets me a little bit, i got the thn app on my iphone to check scores and when i find out the devils are losing 6-0 its a little dissapointing cause im getting whooped in that league.
I hate just about everyone in the East, even the players I like in the East I could probably count on one hand (mostly guys I liked in junior or with other teams).
In the West I wish the local teams here well, used to go to a lot of Ducks games and now I work with the Kings so of course I love to see them succeed and put butts in the seats at Staples Center. My mom was able to stay in the U.S. permanently because of a sort of second family in Chicago so where it doesn't conflict (e.g, Bears, Bulls more recently, Cubs) I like the Chicago teams (White Sox, Blackhawks). I was there last year when they won the Cup and while it was painful to see Philly lose I hung around for a couple hours afterward to see the whole presentation and celebration.
Oh, in this vein I also like to root for RPI alums, but as far as I'm aware that list is currently Chicago (**** them) and Toronto (no ****ing chance), so that's not happening right now.
Who in the league or up-and-comers are from RPI? My brother went there and I when I would visit him we would usually see a game.
i always root for former flyers and teams with former flyers so the list could get pretty long. flyers west (kings) is pretty high on my list but my favorite team to watch out west is anaheim cuz i really like thier style.

Not sure if anyone is in the NHL right now. Pothier was playing for the Caps but is in the Swiss league or something now. Jerry D'amigo and Brandon Pirri are both in the AHL at the moment, playing in the Leafs' and Hawks' systems and either could be candidates for callups I think (Pirri got in one game already). Probably a few other guys floating around in the minors, but none that I know of are NHL possibilities.
