Please beat em.

The Rangers have to continue to play that aggressive road game at home. This isn't going to be an easy one for a lot of reasons. This is the type of game the Rangers have lost at home several times in the past. Put 2 or 3 good games together and then lay an egg at home. I'm hoping this team is a bit different.

I think the Rangers should concentrate on three things tonight -

1, Keep the forechecking up - there are a lot of new faces on Atlanta and they are still trying to figure out their roles in the system. They've let up close to the league max in GA, so keep the pressure on throughout the game.

2, Be positionally aware and continue to block shots - This team has got some wheels and skill so let the play come to you, dont run around - block shots similar to that game up in Toronto, the teams are a little similar, young and skilled - you gotta stay on top of their sticks.

3, Bottle up the neutral zone and pinch - Continue to pinch, support and stand up at the blue lines and in turn you'll keep possession of the puck. Its a balance though, you cant cheat too much with the speed out there you just have to slow them down in the entry areas and some turnovers could be had the other way.

Their D is pretty soft and not great, and they have a lot of young guys up front...just play hard and don't make stupid mistakes and things will be fine.

Forecheck the crap out of their D and chances will come

this team needs to continue to hit everything, their success in all aspects of the game seems to be stemming from their overall physicality on the ice

to have success this year and into the future this needs to change from "something their doing" to "what they do"...if that makes sense to anyone

they're all talking the talk, but lets see if they continue to walk the walk.

the hard part will be sticking to their guns when they lose a game or two or three...keep hitting, keep forechecking, keep shooting...thats the ONLY way they'll win

lets go rangers!

He's playing D because he requested it, and the coaching staff is giving him a chance to show what he's got. So far, so good - he's been playing very well.

But i wouldnt be upset if they did give Biron the nod considering he hasnt played at the Garden yet and Lundqvists numbers against Atlanta are average - he hasnt had the best luck past regulation against this team.
I like the way Ludqvist recovered from his slump. It would be unfair to him to just do a favor to Biron for whatever reason. Keep Henrik as long as we win, then turn it to Marten Toronto or whatever... I think the particular team is secondary here.

Biron will either play Friday vs Carolina, or Saturday vs Toronto. I guarantee it. Think they have a 5 game cycle thing going.

Preferably Saturday because Henrik stinks against the Leafs and Biron is coming off a strong game.

ouch. as long as you're out before the game starts...

i'm on break from class now, but have it from 1:50 to 4 and i won't get home till 4:30. maybe later o_O but at least it'll be a short wait till game time

and whoever said Boogaard vs Byfuglien...that'd be one hell of a fight lol but i doubt it'd ever happen. would be great to see it, though.

there's gonna be alotta hitting going on.........

Boulton is a pretty tough customer, I wonder if he will go with Boogaard.

This Atlanta team is BIG and strong.

Buff, Ladd, Thorburn, Boutlon, Kane, Antropov, Eager, Modin, Stewart, Bogosian.

They have 3 players under 6' on their entire roster and they are 5'11, 5'10 and 5'10.

If it makes Rangers fans feel any better, Atlanta is 1-3 in televised games this year and 2-1-1 in games that aren't televised down here. This IS televised...

I don't think Boulton will just because he knows he can't win because of the height difference. Thorburn might but I wouldn't expect it to be much of a fight. Thorburn went with Chara last year and just kind of hung on and went down before he got killed. lol

Antropov and Bogosian are out. Thorburn, Eager, Modin, and Stewart aren't actually good at offense. Ladd is OK, Kane is good, Bufyglian is...kind of hard to get a handle on. He's started out well but I don't think much of his actual defensive capabilities and think the Rangers could exploit his general lack of mobility. He's strong in front of the net but he doesn't really have a big history of being a legitimate offensive threat.

At any rate, to me it boils down to Atlanta being a team that can be tough to play against, but doesn't currently have a ton of outright skill that they can overpower you with. If the Rangers just limit their screwups and keep playing like they have been for the past 3 games or so, they should be fine

Antropov might be back in. Jimmy Slater is scratched. And Freddy Meyer is hurt, Noah Welch is recalled from the AHL and will take his place.
