Phantoms beat Flyers 10-6
I'm surprised this hasn't been posted already.
What an awesome idea to play a game like this. The thing that I like best was how members of the media ran the teams:
Al Morganti, Anthony Gargano, and Paul Moriarty ran the Flyers
and
Ed Moran, Wayne Fish, and Keith Jones coached the Phantoms.
1 question - why Wayne Fish and Anthony Gargano over Tim Panaccio??
But anyways, definitely an interesting thing to watch. Hopefully this will played next year.

I know the game was probably played 'nicely', like an all-star game, but I still think it's pathetic that the Flyers lost to their AHL affiliate.

You'd think that in a non-contact game the team with the most skill would win handily - which should mean the big club.
Anyway it's a cute idea. If they run it again they should consider giving the proceeds to a charity of some kind.

Well that's because Morganti's coaching was "a disgrace" to paraphrase Tim Saunders. Can't report about hockey, can't coach hockey, Al Morganti is offically useless.

Haha. Just reminding the viewing audience. Morganti can numb the brain, and thus make it liable to forget how bad he is.

the fact is that the Phantoms wanted to win this game alot more than the Flyers. the Flyers seemed to just be going through the motions, were as the Phantoms were really trying to show that they could play with the big club and they did. I'll take Jonesy as my coach over Morganti anyday of the week.
I really liked how that one kid B.J. Abel played. he scored some nice goals and set up a few nice plays. I also liked Brunelle, he was flying out there and he scored on a nice backhander on a 2-1.
BTW, it was funny to see the two Vandermeer brothers yapping at each other in fun.

I wouldn't be too worried. I honestly doubt that the Flyers played this game too seriously, more of a fun thing.

I know, but still. Roenick and company lost to Peter White and company? Ouch.

Last time we did this the Flyers won 6-1, this coming off of the Phantom's Calder Cup win.
Mathieu Brunelle is awsome. That kid was flying on the ice.
This can't be good for the Flyers' 4 on 4 unit

I missed that, was it bleeped out? Calling him on his cell phone was humourous.

Well... they may not have started out caring, but there were not many happy guys heading up to West Point, as I understand it. The mood on the bench was also not too happy when the lead became more than one goal... oh well, I can't say I was surprised...
