Now to solve Richards and JVR...

I know Zherdev scored the goal, but again, would it kill him to forecheck?
I saw Zherdev forechecking. He even tried to lay a big hit. Him and JVR were doing some decent cycles

Such a shame to see Nodl flub that gift from Giroux. That was a slam dunk. He is afraid of offense.

not that this is shocking, where did you see this?

Yeah I noticed that too. I assumed that everyone bailed when they started blowing them out (I only caught the last few minutes of the game).

Saw a great game from Zherdev and Giroux continues to impress. It was nice to see Leino dangling folks and Hartnell looked fast (maybe the hair was weighing him down?). That was a hell of a 2nd. Really wish we'd stop lying down once we hit 5 goals.

And we are now 4-0 when I watch games. Flyers haven't won a game that I've missed.

Finally a solid effort except the third period. Glad Zherdev got on the the board. Hopefully he will start going now.

I was at the game, my first this year. They did not announce the attendance (19,361 per NHL.com). There were pockets of empty seats downstairs. Upstairs looked mostly full, as usual.

There were not nearly as many Sabres fans last night as there were at the game I attended last November.

Flyers have not learned lessons from last season:

Leino looked amazing. Re-sign him right away before everyone else notices.

Typical midweek stuff... the corporate owned seats in the lower bowl were about a quarter empty. Paid attendance was pretty much at capacity, it's just a matter of STH not showing up.

Everyone started to bail after it became a blowout, despite the lull from the Flyers in the 3rd period.

Chickie and Pete's was pretty much empty after the game.

I told the bartenderess at the AT&T Pavillion that they need to have Jameson and not that Protestant swill known as Bushmill's.

The OD fight shifted the momentum in that game. Big props to him for doing that.

Giroux was amazing. What more can you say?

Zherdev is a shifty little ****. I loved the goal and the sick drop pass to JVR. I even saw him forechecking and trying to play physical. I think he is getting more comfortable and if he can bring that kind of effort and skill consistently he will see his ice time increase.

Hartnell-Briere-Leino was our best line.

I feel horrible for Blair Betts having to lug Shelley and Nodl around.

Nodl will get better, I like his speed but he obviously lacks experience. I still see him creating more aw**** plays than attaboys. I say give him time and he will get better.

Shelley I am seriously starting to lose hope for, and I never had much to begin with.

Mezaros is playing better. I was critical of him at the start of the year but he looked pretty damned solid last night. He and O'Donnell are getting it done on 3rd D.

Chris Pronger still seems like he is not 100%... but even at 75% he still seems to be one of our best.

Bobrovsky had no chance on the first 2 goals. The third goal I thought he should have had. Other than that I thought he played well. He needs to work on trying to spot the puck through traffic better. I thought his puck movement needs work and I feel that will get better as he learns to communicate with the defense.

I liked the fact that Lavi called that timeout after 5-3. You could tell that he was pissed about the way the team was playing and let them know it. Nice to know that he is not just a "win is a win" kind of guy he is obviously cares about the "manner of victory."

We are 4-4-1 and play Pitt next. Hopefully some of the momentum from this game will carry over. A win over them will leapfrog us back into the top of the division.

I noticed that. It was pretty empty with like 5 minutes left. Whatever, their loss.
