MSG One of the Cheapest Places to Buy a Beer

If all else turns to dust this season at least we can hang our hats on this.

I usually go to the Benihana for 8 dollar Sapporo's, but it's a pain in the ass to go all the way down there...

MTL fans much be rich BC they're loud as hell.

And I thought 5.50 canadian for a 12 ounce Heineken was a ripoff.

Beer, cheap, and a sports arena should never be used in the same sentence.

This report is grossly inaccurate... Look at all the comments from fans stating that their beer is more expensive...

At the Rangers home opener I paid $9.50 for a 16 oz Heineken by the escalators outside the 400's and $9.75 for a 22 oz. Becks at a beer stand on the 300 level concourses..... I know the domestic beers aren't $7.50 either... Oh and they don't serve 24 oz beers.... The plastic Ranger cups are 22 oz..... Even though you're getting 6 oz less beer, they are still charging $9+ for 16 oz cans of Heineken, Amstel, etc at some of the concessions....

Exactly. They all know that people will still pay for it... Freaking retreads.

That's why get wrecked before the game, so you'll be filled up and only have room for one at the game...

Who goes halfway around the arena to get a cheaper beer? I've never even seen a 7 dollar beer at msg this decade. Everywhere I have sat in the last 5 years its always been $8+ I think home opener was like 9.50 for a 16 oz

when we were there (3 friends and me) we used to just do that. Beer in the supermarkets/ drug stores (we usually went to Duane Reade) isn't that cheap in comparison to Germany either, but waaay cheaper than in MSG.

I don't drink Beck's so I can't tell. Personally, I really like Molson; Heineken was OK. I remember my buddy yelling all over the place that they had German beer at MSG, but I don't know which one. I guess you'll get some at supermarkets/ drugstores, too (Duane Reade had Beck's as far as I remember).

It's cheap if you compare ingredients (German beer vs American Beer)

There's nothing like picking up a euro Bavarian beer.

I've just returned from Northern Germany, and in my most humble, yet sophisticated and unabashed palette, Beck's just might be the worst beer on the planet (except for the noted American malt liquors, Keystone's, Coors, etc).

Ugh...Pilsner or Budvar in Czech is for 2$ per half liter(17 oz)...
But we have about four or five times lower average salary, so..

There is ONE place in the whole garden that has decent selection, and that is on the 300 level concourse outside the food stalls, between towers C and D.

Its the push carts against the wall. Anchor Steam, Brooklyn Lager, Blue Moon, etc.

Of course, its $10 a cup there, not $9.50. They know the good stuff and price it higher.
