When Spezza is back...

The Michersson line (9MM, Fisher, and Alfy) has been tearing it up and when Spezza gets back I think they should be kept together (this probably won't happen tho because Clouston is a putzz).

If that line is kept together I think Regin - Spezza - Kovalev would make a great line as well.. It is a great mix of playmaking and with 3 players who can put the puck in the net, that is obviously good...

Regin - Spezza - Kovalev
Michalek - Fisher - Alfredsson

Should be our top 2...

Yeah, I was actually thinking about what would happen to our top 6 once Spezza gets back. It would mess with some good chemistry.

explain why you would bump Fisher off that line?

Yep. I'd put Spezza in that third line spot (he'll play first line minutes obviously when you factor in PP etc) and see what he can create. Move him back up when Fisher goes on one of his expected cold streaks or the line stops producing.

Because Michalek has proven chemistry with Spezza

Foligno is the weak link in the top-6, Spezza should play with Regin.

I like it too, bring a different dynamic to our top 6, and it probably makes us harder to play against.

Exactly, but only because.. Regin is a better player than Foligno..

Regin--Spezz--Kovalev Sounds like it should have some potential, definitely try that out.

i could live with that until fisher goes cold.

no reason to break up MFA line right now.

It's funny how many people (in this tthread and the other) want to slot Shannon in on Spezza's wing to try to depth at the expense of quality.

OK, I think I get what you're going with...basically the top 2 lines are playing well, so lets not break them up, but Spezza is a Top-6 players, so we can't put him on the 3rd line....most the 2nd line too the 3rd, and make a whole new 2nd line...

My problem with that line is...basically everything except for Spezza...

I'd rather have Kelly centre Foligno and Shannon on the 3rd, and Spezza centre Kovalev and Regin.

I look at the stat sheet tonight, and Regin on paper looks like he didn't contribute, but I thought he looked amazing (again)...the more I see him on the Top-6, more I think he belongs there...

As stated somewhere before.

Regin-Spezza-Kovalev
Michalek-Fisher-Alfredsson

Has a potential to be a deadly mother****in top 6.

Only negative? No powerforward on top line to drive to the net. Everyone could eventually play a perimeter game, nothing more.

I would like to see that Spezza line as our 2nd! MFA contains the scoring line and Regin-Spezza-Kovalev score goals!

No what's funny is how many people want to return to the Michalek-Spezza-Alfie line that has done nothing for us. We're 3-2 with 15GF and 10GA with the MFA line, while we're 1-3-1 with 11GF and 19GA against with Spezza centering Michalek and Alfie. It's like you're all Clouston.

No, Kovalev wants to stick with Foligno and Regin.

Michalek - Fisher - Alfredsson
Shannon - Spezza - Smith
Foligno - Regin - Kovalev
Ruutu - Kelly - Neil

The 1st line is hot right now.
Spezza could make these two guys look good and Shannon has decent speed.
This line has been relatively good.
And you can't split the RKN line up.

I think this would be pretty solid.

If we do that I'd rather try Butler or Locke in Smith's spot.

I've been agreeing with your type of logic all my life. Keep posting this stuff, then i can do more reading and less typing.

I agree, Butler would be good on that line I think.

Was just going with what who we have playing right now.

Actually forgot about Winnie. Healthy scratch I guess.

Michalek has produced more with Spezza this year (3 G), than he has with Fisher (1 A).

Even Alfredsson has more points with Spezza this year (4 A) than he has with Fisher (1 G, 2 A). Most of Alfie's goals have come on the PP.

Either way, whatever we do putting Shannon with Spezza is just stupid. Regin-Spezza-Kovalev could be worth a shot, but you don't play your #1 center with guys like Shannon, Butler, Locke, and Smith.
