He's first in toi, no ? That's a pretty good correlation between toi and the points he has.
Still impressive, though with Markov back will his ice time go down, but his points go up ?
He started putting up more points after his work load was reduced (6 points his last 7 games). He started the year pretty much out #1 or #2 D. Now that Hamrlik's back taking some of the tougher defensive assignments, the points are starting to come easier as he can focus on offense a bit more safely. I think when Markov comes, he's only going to get more dangerous as Markov will get most of the point attention on the PP and he uses his point partner a lot better than Hamrlik.
Subban is much more than a young budding NHL defenseman.
He is an entertainer
The guy makes the crowd go Wow and Oooo... he stirs your emotions... and he even can make you laugh at some of the stuff he pulls on ice.
Amazing he was still available 2nd round
This is what I really like about him. He's kind of like Kovalev in that way. Whenever a game was boring back when Kovalev was with Montreal, I'd just watch him deke around guys and that made the game less boring. Same thing with PK, he's an entertainer.

Hamrlik & Spacek's minutes will go down way before Subban's IMO. I can eventually see 25min from both Markov and Subban. 50min/game with either Subban or Markov out sounds great.

At this point, its more than amazing... its a small miracle. I've been trying not to let my expectations skyrocket but Subban is looking like he won't be just a great defenseman... he'll be elite one.

Reason: spelling

Kovalev was trying to deke everyone including his own teammates til he loses the puck.. At least Subban's dekes are constructive..

This. Pretty much. I cringed when I saw Subban mentionned in the same sentence as Kovalev.
Subban is a passionated, enthousiastic workhorse with tremendous talent.
Kovalev is all but the first two qualifiers.
Subban also is more gritty than Kovalev and will literally push opponents to challenge him. And that is what makes him so special, even compared to guys like Karlsson, Carlson, McBain and cie. He's got that arrogance and that willingness to humiliate his opponents. The same arrogance and the same will Roy had back then.

"Subban is never going to be a stud in this league. He's not good enough defensively, and he isn't imposing respect with his 160 pounds frame."
I swear I read it somewhere in the main boards. Subban plays a fancy game, but he's actually rough and can mix it up. He's also incredibly strong along the boards. It's quite something to see.

Someone actually said that? Subban has been over 200 lbs for a while.

I was just going to say, as great as Subban is offensively I am equally impressed with his defensive game. Lets not forget how he stymied Crosby throughout the Pittsburgh series last season. He almost seems to step up more when he is given a tough defensive assignment. With Markov's return, I don't think it's a stretch to say that the Habs have one of the top group of 6 (plus Picard) defenses in the league.
P.K 21:35 avg per game -2nd only to gorges....+5, 6pts in 10 games. the kid is a ****ing beast
Last year Myers won the Calder with 11G+37A=48pts. Subban may get more than that by playing with Markov. But this year, there are some good rookies: Eberle, Hall. Skinner, Carlsson, Ennis, etc. It's very interesting to see the race to get the Calder for these rookies.
