Maroon is being removed from the organization (Holmgren quoted, post #101)
Maroon was a late healthy scratch tonight. Holmgren was also at the Phantoms game tonight against the WBS Penguins.
RT @PSPhantoms: Wow. Per @nafsef Pens radio said issue with Maroon was attitude and that he was "sent home." No confirmation.
RT @PSPhantoms: Pat Maroon has been sent home pending re-assignment. Will not return to the Phantoms this season.
RT @PSPhantoms: Gilbert said the team would have no further comment. Players declined to comment on what caused the issue.
RT @PSPhantoms: So there's your breaking news: It appears Maroon's time in the Flyers organization is over. A shocker.
RT @PSPhantoms: To answer the ?s on Maroon, I have no idea what happened, but must have been late Thursday or early Friday. Normal early week.
RT @PSPhantoms: I didn't see this coming. Maroon's been terrific on ice and appeared to be working hard.

Well..
I figured this when he got no playing time in pre-season.
It looks like Maroon is gone Mr.Shafer.

WTF?! Something big must be brewing. Did he hit the coach down there or something?

RT @PSPhantoms: Perhaps someone with better sources than me can find out what happened from front office. Players not talking.
Whatever happened, no one is being told. My guess: does the letter K mean anything to you?

RT @PSPhantoms: Re-listening to tape, it wasn't said directly Maroon would never be back. Words were "no longer with the team pending re-assignment."
RT @PSPhantoms: But I think you can read between the lines there.
RT @PSPhantoms: I asked if Maroon would ever return, and the answer was repeated "he's no longer with the team pending re-assignment."

Random. I'm guessing he had a huge falling out with Gilbert.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is more due to having an idiotic coach on our minor team.
This is too out-of-the-blue and too important a prospect (for us) for it be anything else. This ****ing sucks though. Our best forward prospect is being cut loose and no one is giving any reason why. ********.

If he was too important it would have been worked out.

Not necessarily true.
He's not a great prospect by any means, but he's our best forward prospect and pretty much our only current forward prospect with realistic top six upside. If we lose him then our forward prospects all ****ing atrocious. Legein or Testwuide might be our best forward prospects. Think about that.

LAME! Lame.
This is lame news. So it's now time to pull for Legein? This is what happens when you don't have a 1st or 2nd round pick in 3 years.
Thanks Holmgrem

only in Philly could a kid like Maroon be kicked out the door with nothing to show for it.
More proof that Gilbert is going nowhere since hes one of Holmgren's boys
