No sale!

We don't need any more Scapegoats. This is Philadelphia, we make our own scapegoats at the drop of a hat.

Jody Shelley should be in jail for stealing a million dollars from this organization. It's ****ing criminal how bad he is and that he gets paid for it.

I am done blaming Shelley for being Shelley. He has performed exactly as he has performed for his entire career. I don't blame him for the absurd decisions made by Holmgren.

Yeah, I've tried really hard to have this attitude. The problem is we still have to watch him lay a huge turd at centre ice night in and night out. It's frustrating.

1. Good for Richards. Thats one way how you lead.
2. Lavi made the right call nto playing zherdev on the 4th line and scratched him. Now you insert him and sratch shelley.
3. Unless Shooter is telling you to play shelley, you scratch him for a while to prove your point to shooter that he is useless and brings no value to the team.
4. Why does this team sit back int hr 3rd period with the lead. so stevens esqu. That is a formula to lose. Take it to them not the other way around. Show them who the better team is.

I heard that too - sounds impossible, but he does have freakishly small feet for his size.

Very entertaining game. Still took way too many penalties.

the tone of the game was set with the 2 fights. Then the special teams fest. This is why the game has become unwatchable too many times. Refs kill and control the game the game. officiating was abd on both sides, with the flyers getting hosed more, as usual.

I just finished watching it. Giroux was great. Bobrovsky looks very calm in net, although he could perhaps do a better job at making sure he sees the shots. He had a lot of help from the d though. Timonen blocked shots all over the place. Meszaros had a pretty solid game as well. The others did fine as well. Not much to do on the goals against, sure O'Donnell was caught staring at the puck on the first one, but it's a nice play by the Pens and the second one is such a great backhand pass by Crosby.

Hartnell had a pretty good game as well I think, considering his early tumble. He was efficient on the forecheck most of the time.

Richards pass to Giroux was pretty sweet as well, btw.

I can not believe Lavi benched Zherdev after Sabres game.

Also, I do not think we need Shelley in all of our games. Only when we play NYR or Toronto. Dress Carcillo.

Carcillo Betts Powe as our 4th line.

I wear size 9 1/2 and I'm 5'8". What the hell?

I love watching the Flyers beat the Pens at home. Especially with their stupid announcers and their annoying fans.

A quote by Laviolette regarding Nodl:

“I really trust him on the ice. The offense is starting to come. Defensively he’s willing to do the little things. It’s always a tough decision when you have extra people but Nodes deserved to stay in there and he deserved to get extra minutes.”

They'll start going in for Nodl. He's around the net, and he's working hard. One is bound to bounce in off his ass or something soon.

they said the same thing about kent manderville
When nodl flubbed that giroux pass the other night in front of the net, it cant get much worse than that. That was a slam dunk for a goal he should have had.

Welcome to the Bobo-Roo Show NHL? Missed the game, but a win against the Pens is rare so I'll take it!

Trivia question: When Manderville scored his first hat trick (not with the Flyers), a team mate scored on a penalty shot in the same game. Who was the player? He later became a Flyer.

I'm starting to hate Shelley. He's only paid to fight and can't whoop Engelland's ass? Terrible. Take a lap.

Playing for dad

I took a trip over to Pittsburgh for the weekend and to see the game. I was unaware that we were staying at the same hotel as the players until a couple hours before the game in the hotel bar was a group of guys in Flyers jerseys and no 2 were the same. After talking with them it turns out that it's the start of a players/fathers trip and they were players fathers. It was a great time talking to a proud (rightfully so) group of men. We talked to Giroux's father the most and he ended up having a great night. I had a feeling that the dads being there would give the Flyers the extra motivation to play a little harder. I believe he said they were spending the next week with them, going to practices, dinners and all team functions.

I met Giroux's dad at a Caps/Flyers game in DC early last season during the fathers trip. I was wearing a Giroux jersey (as was he, of course), so he approached me on the concourse. Nice guy, very gracious and humble. We had a brief chat, and he actually thanked me for wearing Claude's jersey. I was like, "Claude's the most talented player on the team, it's only a matter of time before he becomes a star." His face lit up with pride and appreciation. It looks like this may be the season that Giroux fulfills his enormous potential and elevates his game on a consistent basis. So far, so good.
