Good luck tonight Ranger fans. Johnny Malkin won't be on the second line as in all likelihood he'll be taking Armstrong's place on the checking line with Brent and Sjostrom.

Didn't see last night's game, how did eminger play? Any chance Sauer finally gets back in?

Getting away from the Garden might be exactly what this team needs.

Kris Versteeg will most likely be playing today. Also it looks like Luca Caputi will be in and John Mitchell will be out. Zigomanis will also be out in favor of Christian Hanson who was called up today.

Kulemin - Bozak - Kessel
Versteeg- Grabovski - MacArthur
Sjostrom - Brent - Caputi
Orr - Hanson - Brown

They'll win tonight because it's the road. When they get their rings in June, maybe they should put "road warriors" on there. ala 08 Giants.

for the long term, yeah. but for a game or two, shouldn't be a problem. then bring MDZ back monday night and go with:

staal-rozi
sauer-girardi
MDZ-gilroy

Do want.

Limit MDZ's defensive responsibility until he proves he can handle more of it.

I don't think MDZ should sit any games, but I wouldn't mind seeing something like that. That depends on Torts ever realizing Sauer is his best choice out of the current 3 man d-men rotation.

That doesn't surprise me. A fringe NHLer playing great against the Rangers. Happens way too much.

If the defense continues to play like ****, we're ****ed. And I can't handle three straight losses, so let's tighten up a bit eh?

Honestly seeing sauer as a healthy scratch makes me want to cry.... Not rly but it's getting rediculous there's not one good reason sauer isn't getting playing time in favor of steve eminger.

What I'd do:
Staal-rozi
Girardi-sauer
Mdz-gilroy

DO NOT play del zotto on one powerplay, being demoted to the third line and no getting any powerplay time should be a slap in the face that del zotto REALLY needs, he's played like **** lately.

Yeah, let's overreact and not play our PPQB on the PP.

An MDZ-Gilroy pairing would be absolutely disastrous. You don't put two second-year struggling offensive defensemen on the same pairing.

Sauer would need to be eased into a top 4 role. He can't go from averaging 11 minutes per game and being a healthy scratch to logging 20 minutes per game overnight. His durability is an issue as well... always liked Sauer, but the fact that he was too sore to play after playing 2 games in a row is a bit concerning.

I'm all for giving MDZ 3rd pairing time, but it is going to be difficult considering the way our defense is constructed. Also keep in mind that whoever is replacing DZ in the top 4 would be playing LD, and entrusting any of Gilroy, Sauer, or Eminger to play on their off side for 20 minutes a game against better players is a daunting task.

Not sure why Torts wouldn't play him, but then again you never know.

He wasn't on the last powerplay last night nd uk what happened? We scored a goal with the point man staal. He has 2 power play points thus far and I bet 3x more turnovers on the powerplay. I dont think well miss his stellar powerplay production for a game while he watches someone else play what should rightfully be his position on the powerplay. And honestly when he get the puck and brings it back to te blue line and skates around looking for the perfect pass it slows dow the entire offense and we only have 2 minutes on the powerplay at a time, he takes up at least 15 seconds skating behind the net and searching the ice sometime u just have to get the puck and take it up or dump it in he doesn't do that or think that way it seams. All I trying to say is he's hasn't played like the coveted powerplay qb that he was last year and skipping him on one or two postulate could be the "hey Michael let's get I going!" That he really needs right now.
