gotta be an injury. Not even trotz would play a new guy 4 shifts and then sit him for the rest of the game.
He was going with guys he trusts. Klasen doesn't know the PP, he doesn't play the PK, and at ES we were dominating that period. Therefore, Trotz got comfortable with his top 11 forwards and used them exclusively.
It's not benching him persay, it's just sticking with the guys you're comfortable with and who you know know the systems. Detroit plays too quick to be thinking out there. Klasen has had one morning skate with the team and ZERO training camp...
Tough for Spaling. He was exhausted already before that. Your coach is juggling lines like crazy! Hard to follow.
Not sure what is going on with Klasen. Thought, (with what small time he got), he did well.
*13 for Detroit, one of my favorites.

understandable, the next game maybe he gets two shifts in the 2nd period. Personally I think this could destroy the confidence he had in Milwaukee.
I dont know Trotz, but does klasen's 6 minutes mean he is done in the NHL for good or is it just a way to ease him in?
As I said earlier, Trotz was simply going with guys he knew and trusted. If Klasen stays up, he'll get two days of practice to be worked in and should get more time vs. Phoenix on Wednesday...
If we thought Tootoo might sit tonight we called up Klasen yet Bouillon might be scratched and we don't call up another defender against Detroit? That is poor roster management. Why have all these prospects if we're not going to use them. Dumb dumb dumb.

Who/what/where/when/how does this happen?! Play short benched against the Wings?! Are you freaking kidding me?!
I've dealt with alot of things watching the Preds over the years, but to not even give the team a decent shot before the puck drops---that I can't tolerate.
Not so sure about Trotzy's roster decisions tonight. Maybe makes more sense not bringing another Dman from MIL if Weber AND Suter are together eating lots of minutes. But no Suter, no Cube and double shifting 5 Dmen against Detroit. Add to that no Goc, Lombardi, or Tootoo.
Trotz is placing an awful lot of extra pressure on a young captain. I know Trotz was thinking this was our best chance to win. But how much better was this strategy than just giving our young guys some experience. Bring the young guys and focus on detail. With all the injuries a win here would have been a miracle. Tonight merely heaped frustration on the leaders (Weber and Pekks) of the team.
The fact that we had only 5 D tonight was poor planning and a lack of foresight more than anything else.
Bouillon took a slapshot to his "upper body" in the second period of Thursday's game and subsequently missed ~10 minutes before returning to finish the game. He sat out Friday's practice, but was obviously thought to be ready to go tonight. Unfortunately at, before, or after the morning skate he was either ruled or he ruled himself out and it was too late to recall a defenseman from Milwaukee since they are currently out in Abbottsford...
Just a bad gamble that lead to an overworked D tonight...
