Please allow me to preface this by saying I'm an outsider just asking an honest question. I have NO intention of insulting Marty or starting a flamewar. My question is as follows, why are they still starting Marty so often and do you expect it to continue? Is there a lack of trust in Hedberg or is there a belief that Marty needs to play more to be in top shape? Thank You.
Hedberg has been poor in the couple appearances he has made so I'm sure lack of confidence is an issue.
It's really hard to say right now how many starts Marty will get. I'm sure now they feel like just about every game is a must win. With that being the case you start your best goalie.
However, if the suck fest continues much longer they will have played themselves out of a playoff spot. If that happens then I would think Hedberg would get some more starts in an effort to preserve Marty for next season. Hard to say, though, because Marty has a lot of pull with the coaches. He pretty much makes his own schedule.

Because Marty says so. He's our lord and savior and we can't succeed without him, since the 2008-09 regular season never happened. No matter how mediocre or inconsistent he's been, no matter how much he actually shows his age, he has to start about every game, from back-to-backs to meaningless ones, even if Ryan Miller was on our squad.
despite the people that hate Marty, this current team will lose any game he doesn't play in, unless they play the suckiest sucks who ever sucked, and they will lose it pretty badly.
hopefully Moose doesn't play in the annual Vancouver debacle.
It's only October. We cannot declare the team out of it until at least December.
Not officially, but if Zach is out for any length of time it's gonna be a big problem. Even if Zach was healthy, there are just too many problems. If they were close in these games, or were showing signs or life it would be different. Instead, they seemingly can't do anything right. PP sucks. PK sucks. D sucks. Passing sucks. Receiving passes sucks. Shooting sucks. The entire team is completely out of sync. They seem like they aren't conditioned enough to play an entire game, or are just old and slow. Bringing in on PMD won't change all that. Getting Volch back won't change that.

It's gonna be a debacle anyway might as well play him. Of course I say that and watch it be the game we score 4 goals but lose 6-4 because of Moose. hahaha

Devils are playing Brodeur regularly the same reason managers play certain pitchers on 3 days rest. In other words, right now, he's the best option.
And you are way too nice in your post. It's a legit question.
My friend is a T(h)rashers fan and told me Hedberg always had a slow and bad starts to the seasons...hopefully this is the case, cause until now, he has been simply terrible with absolutely no confidence.

Unfortunately you don't get the luxury of having bad starts when you're Marty's backup...one bad start and you never get heard from for the next three months.
Of course this season will be different if the worst-case scenario happens over the next week (lose the next four, Parise having a serious injury) then the only reason to play Marty will be for him to roll up his win and shutout record some more.
