That would be my guess. Maybe Zherdev and Giroux rekindle the pre season magic

Anyone else think Bob will need a rest soon? I'm not trying to overload this guy with a ton of starts soon.

Cam Ward is a stud again; I think we're going to miss Briere's sneakiness around the net today.

Looks like Carolina is going with the "Flyers-can't-beat-backup-goalies" tonight. At least, that is one report.

Also, Matsumoto is playing.

He was playing 35-40 games in KHL. Probably did not face as many shots but still.. Play hot rookie while he is hot.

Awesome GDT!

In October 2010, the Flyers matched their October 2009 record (6-4-1) by closing out with three straight wins. That was good enough for 4th in the Atlantic and 8th in the Conference a year ago. This year it gets them 1st in the Atlantic and 3rd in the Conference (4th in points). Weird.

Here's something I've tracked on and off since my ESPN.com posting days:
Flyers' record with 3+ goals: 6-0-0
Flyers' record with 2- goals: 0-4-1

Bobrovsky played on a terrible team and faced a lot of shots in the KHL. If anything, he's facing different types of shots in the NHL... shots with traffic in front of him, as a prime example.

That's...not surprising to say the least. The more goals you score the more likely you are to win. After all, that's how you win, by out-scoring your opponent.

I bet most, if not all, teams around the league has similar records.

.
Actually, I was on ESPN during the trap heyday, so NJ's record was much different. You're probably correct about today's NHL.

Well from outside.. 30 shots is not a lot of work. I doubt it was 30.
