Hopefully, but it's a real credit to that team when they can lose a guy like Campbell and still ice a team with Keith, Seabrook, and Hjalmarsson on the back end. All of those guys on the blue line can move the puck, and almost every one of their forwards plays a very competent two way game.

I'm not so much worried about the defensive puck movement as I am a guy like Sharp pick-pocketing a forward in the neutral zone.

Even with out Hossa, Campbell, and Bolland, the Hawks are still the strongest team we'll have played so far this season. Rangers haven't faced a top team yet.

With Brian Campbell back, it looks like Nick Boynton and Bryan Bickell are the scratches for the #Blackhawks.

Meh Campbell has been average at best since joining the Hawks. Not really a concern IMO.

Just stopped by the Blackhawks board. Man it sounds like they haven't won a cup for 16 years over there.

Lots of similarities, though. Apparently some there feel that they have an unduly large number of 7th defensemen on the roster.

Anyway, I have some high hopes for this one. Beating Chicago would be a real ego boost for our team and show that we're to be taken seriously.

He's been decent defensively the past few games. I just wish his offensive game would come around, since that's the reason he was signed.

At this point, I'll be surprised if the Rangers don't make an effort to trade him sometime this season. If he somehow lasts the season, I doubt the Rangers will tender him an offer sheet, especially with Cally, Dubi, and Arty commanding raises.

He hasn't been scoring like he did in Buffalo, but he's a HUGE part of their transition game. Much more important than people realize.

Gilroy needs to produce offensively if he wants to stay here.

I still think he is not an NHL defenseman on just about any other club. Only reason he is still here is because McDonagh has been brutal, and management didn't want Valentenko, for some reason.

Renney just beat them, I doubt Torts will do the same. I'd say "Safe is Salvation" and I hope Torts is hearing me out...

i think this team is 100% F'd if they try to play safe hockey...they are simply not good enough defensively to play that game (dmen and forwards)

they need to go balls to the wall, make as little mistakes as possible, and Henirk needs to be there when it counts

thats the only way this team can win games

We've gone 3-1-1 vs the Hawks since the lockout. I'm not too worried. However, the way we play at home is what really bothers me.

It's redeem yourself time.

Mike Sauer will be back in, likely with Steve Eminger as the scratch, though all that won’t be confirmed until around 5.

Torts head seems to have removed itself from his ass, temporarily on this issue.

Have you watched any AHL games?

A couple, but I'm referring more to the preseason performances, where Gilroy outperformed McDonagh, buch like he outperformed Sanguinetti last year.

Kind of disappointing if you ask me.

Why do you ask?

I was just curious because while McDonagh's stats are bad, I hadn't read anything about him being brutal. I was wondering if you had more insight.

I also thought McDonagh was quite good during preseason for his first NHL training camp, but yet he was definitely outperformed by Gilroy, who looked like Scott Neidermayer half the time.
