First in the league, there's absolutely no rush... Sorry for your fantasy pool. Didn't get to pick Drew this season...

Yellow doesn't suit him!

As per Helene Elliot: Kings say Drew Doughty was cleared to return to all hockey activities. Expected to be activated and play Thurs. vs. Tampa Bay

Yup just saw that. I'm curious to know if a player has to be at "100 %" to pass the baseline test, hopefully thats where DD is at.

I hope Doughty comes in army mode: flying like a rocket, shooting like a cannon, passing like a sniper and hitting like a tank!

I say leave him out until we lose a game, or at the very least curtail his minutes for a bit. Concussions scare me.

Yeah. I'd give him at least 3 more games.

What? Should we rest him until the playoffs, just in case?

Extra time off won't improve anything.

Doughty's back!

Yeah, I think he got a good break. He was up and working out and active the day after the concussion. I think he was left out extra time for precautionary measures. I think he got enough time and I think hes going to be okay. 14 days is a great amount of time.

I can't wait until he's back and at 100% but man is it amazing that we have the kind of depth to where we didn't fall apart with him out of the line up.

Oh, and as far as the NHL's "we care allot" attitude towards the whole head injury thing and how they have cracked down on certain types of hits, well, they let one go that had one of their young super stars out of the line up for one national broadcast and several games.

Way to go as usual NHL, Betteman equals basketball guy.

Useless.
How was the NHL going to crack down on incidental contact? It wasn't malicious or intentional ... no suspension or fine needed... sucks but move on.

Hypothetically you do, if DD failed he wouldn't be able to take the test again for a week meaning he'd automatically be out for 2 more games. The kings wouldn't have had him take it today if they weren't positive he'd pass it. Taking it today means they felt he'd be ready to play thursday, otherwise they'd have waited a couple more days to take it.

Exaclty ... neither Drew nor the Kings would have taken the test if they thought he wouldn't pass ... I'm sure he's either at or close to 100% and will be good to go come Thursday.

He just needs to focus and play the game instead of having a "I'm a bad-ass" punk attitude on the ice - thats how you get a target on your back...

I think being a Norris finalist at the age of 20 and going from the #7 to the #1 or #2 dman on the gold medal winnning Canadian olympic team is how you get a target on your back.
