I wouldn't think there would be another channel. They'll just do what they do with their current channels like Sportsnet West when there's a Flames game and black it out everywhere else.

The Shaw guide data just came online and probably isn't 100% correct yet. It also calls the channel SNEHD which I would assume is East not One.

That is strange because Shaw Digital is supposed to be getting the channel on free preview.

Push them hard - I think they should give you this season of NHL Centre Ice free as compensation for the screw-up.

I noticed there were two SD and two HD channels noted for Shaw at the Rogers website:

SD 110/414

HD 267/309

Shaw Direct I believe is Shaw's satelite TV, formerly Starchoice. I've got Shaw cable and thus far no sign of any Sportsnet One. In fact, I'm pretty sure TSN2 isn't even offered here either so I don't have high hopes of getting Sportsnet One.

On Telus Optik the guide shows "No info available" on the grid but when the channel comes on the on-screen info banner shows the program details (English Premier League Soccer) and times (9:00 - 11:30am) currently.

No channel designation appears on the grid or on-screen. Just as long as the Canucks games are on, that is all I am concerned about but it would make it impossible to set the PVR to record the game. Currently you cannot even record the current program that is on-screen.

As my grand niece might say - that sucks.

Domestic terrorism might be an option.

I guess that is the penalty for living in one of the most beautiful areas in the world.

On Telus Optik the guide is now populated with program information for Rogers SportsNet ONE (RSNONEH). However there is no guide listing for the Wednesday game against Edmonton.

It appears there may be "companion" channel that is activated for the game - Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey (SNV). Also Rogers pre-season broadcasts will be streamed at Canucks.com free of charge but it looks like there may be a charge for regular season games:
Quote:
This year’s regular season TV schedule includes 45 Rogers Sportsnet Pacific broadcasts, 13 Rogers Sportsnet ONE broadcasts and 24 nationally televised broadcasts. Canucks games scheduled for Sportsnet ONE will be seen on Sportsnet ONE’s companion channel, Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey. Rogers Sportsnet begins their 2010.11 regular season Canucks broadcast schedule with a 7:00 pm start on Monday, October 11th when the Canucks host the Florida Panthers on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific. Once again John Shorthouse will provide the play-by-play, alongside analyst John Garrett and host Dan Murphy.

This year’s eight pre-season games will be broadcast, starting on September 21st with the Vancouver Canucks concurrently playing both a home and away game in Vancouver and Calgary. The Canucks home game will be streamed online at Canucks.com while the away game will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific. A total of five pre-season games will be televised on Rogers Sportsnet (three games on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific and two on Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey), one on CBC and one on TSN.

Canucks.com will also stream all pre-season and regular season Rogers Sportsnet games online. All pre-season games will be available to fans complimentary. Information regarding regular season online subscriptions will be released at a later time.

I'm confused. SHAW in Victoria just appears to have given us SN East? I wonder if that's just a hold in their system until they switch it to SNONE?

It's Sportsnet ONE, if you look at the programming guide and TV Schedule on Sportsnet's site it's a match. Don't know why they named it like that though.

Looks like the companion channels are 320 and 301 (HD) for Shaw.

forgive me if this was already answered:

but as many as you know with the centre ice package if you live outside of B.C. you would get Canucks PPV games included in your centre ice package with no extra charge. (the one bonus of living outside of B.C. I guess)

My question is will this stay the same as sportsnet one is replacing the PPV?

Thanks.

No reason for you not to. Sportsnet ONE are still regional broadcasts so should be on NHL Centre Ice as long as you're outside of the market.

Thanks Spixel, that part I was unsure about. I am still gonna go ahead with centre Ice as usual but i will take your word on that.

BTW who is else is fed up with the crappy non-hd feeds for games such as FLA vs NYR as an example.

I mean, it's 2010 can we not get HD cameras across the board?

The Rogers website notes alternate channels for the different NHL regional feeds:

Code:
Sportsnet Sens alternate channel
Television Provider SD HD
Rogers Cable
Ottawa Area 414
OTT, select N.B./N.L. systems only 500
Ottawa only
Shaw Cable 320 301

Sportsnet Flames alternate channel
Television Provider SD HD
Shaw Cable 320 301

Sportsnet Oilers alternate channel
Television Provider SD HD
Shaw Cable 320 301

Sportsnet vancouver alternates
Television Provider SD HD
Shaw Cable 320 301
http://www.sportsnet.ca/one/

Nothing yet for Telus/Optik announced on a secondary channel.

Last week channel 225 (Shaw) was Sportsnet One. Now its's East.

As you said, channel 301 is now listed has SN1HD, but there is no signal. yet i have the full HD package...I assumed that was everything but the movie channels...

Shaw 225 is Sportsnet One. That is a national station.

Shaw 301 is Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey. Since Sportsnet's Canucks rights are regional (B.C. and Yukon only), they cannot show the games on 225. So they will show them on 301. But unless there's a Canucks game on 301, you won't get a signal, because they aren't broadcasting anything else.

I hope that clears it up for you.

Sorry for bumping the thread but Shaw secretly changed the companion channels of Sportsnet One in the lower mainland.

For HD it is now channel 302

For SD it is now channel 326

Take note for the game on Thursday
