With DD back, Muzzin goes back to Manchester.

Seems expected.

Should be good in the long-run. Get a little more experience, be the first call-up, and next year be ready for a heck of a position battle.

Hopefully he can get some time in on the PP down there. I really like what I've seen of him so far. Seems like he'll top out as a solid 3/4 defenseman who can play in all situations.

With Greene and Doughty back someone had to get sent down. Would have hurt Drewiskie's confidence, recovery and development to send him down. Muzzin can develop his offensive game there and keep building confidence. He's already more mature than the average 21-year-old player both physically and mentally.

Am I in the minority where I'd rather them keep Muzzin and sit Whiskey? I like them both, but Muzzin seems to be only getting better each and every game.

I think Drewiske is improving and probably gets the nod because of seniority. I'm cool with that. Muzzin is in his first year in the pros so he'll get a chance to really work on his game.

Not to mention waiver eligibility, I'm fairly certain Drewiske would have to be waived. Given that either one would be a serviceable #6 right now, might as well not risk losing one.

Exactly, Muzzin will be a first to call in case of an injury to a D.

I like his presence in the lineup, did some mistakes but which rookie doesn't make any? He's a physical presence and pretty agile for a big man.

Muzzin didn't do anything to pass Drewiske and Drewiske hasn't done anything to fall below Muzzin. Muzzin will be back with the next injury, just like Loktionov. That is why you have depth in your organization, especially on defense.

It's not a slight against Muzzin at all. Muzzin just needs to maintain his lead on Hickey to make the team next season.

This allows Muzzin to the be the #1 guy and play 20+ minutes a game instead of being the #5 or #6 guy and playing 14 minutes a game

i highly doubt it has anything to do with Drewiske's confidence, recovery and development and much likely more to do with the fact that at this point, the staff sees Davis as a bit more reliable option - if for nothing else than familiarity and experience. he's definitely earned his right to sink or swim... and he's what, 5 years older than Muzzin or something?

another reason would be because i assume Drewiske is waiver eligible now.

Pretty much spot on. Kid impressed me.

Is it possible for a fan to complain about their team having depth? Man, I liked him and Lokti, and now they're gone...sort of.....

Not a bad idea to get him number one playing time. I was impressed with his stint as an NHler so far.

I wish he could have stayed but i understand that hes one of the few people on the roster that can go without waivers. Even thou i think ph would have made it thou.

Well his age and experience factor into those two things, I think. They were both playing well in the role they were in but what makes more sense for each player in this stage of their respective careers?

For Muzzin, he's still a few months out of junior hockey, for Drewiskie, now is the time to, as you said, "sink or swim."
