Offense
Love the look of the top 6, LOVE the third line and the fourth line is meh.
Defense
I hope Gorges can handle top 2 minutes, Hamrlik/Spacek is rather meh and Subban with Gill can work, since Gill always stays behind which will lead Subban to pinch more often.
I like the idea of Cammy and Markov on the point but... that second PP wave is brutal.
Its just practice, but this shows that Martin is working, whatever some words we could hear around here...
For Darche on the 2nd unit, he goes to the net. He did, whereas the other guys, not necessarily playing badly, dont.
About Gorges playing "Top2" mins, with that D squad, we can throw a defensive pairing without really thinking about the matchups...they're all solid, and then, they should have around the same amount of icetime at ES...and as Gorges is not supposed to play on the PP, it should be ok.

Gorges has handled it before for us.
The 3rd line should be a line that creates energy for us and has a good forecheck.
First PP unit - Cammy will be on the point with Markov.
Second PP unit - Plekanec, Darche, Eller, Subban, Hamrlik
Thoughts?
Hmmm why? I don't mind him being in the lineup over Pyatt. But why on our already bad PP. It didn't work the last couple games so why would it work now.
Markov-Gorges could be very, very solid
While Subban should get a chance to roam on offense playing with Gill who will always stay back. Subban can also use his speed to cover for Gill whenever a foot-race breaks out.

I'm not a big fan of how they've been shuffling Eller from LW-C-RW...ideally, I think he'd look good next to Gomez-Gionta. Might be a new EGG line a la Elias-Gomez-Gionta.
But whatever...I understand JM is trying to find a spark by trying different things, just wish there was more continuity in the lineup.
I think that Subban-Gill can be somewhat interesting, but risky. On one hand, Gill can really focus on staying defensive, Subban can go on the offense. Subban has the speed to make up for Gill's mistakes when they happen which he can't make up for himself. On the other hand, if Subban presses the offensive a lot and is caught out of position, Gill is damn slow to catch a turn-over. But if he stays far back enough, it might be ok.
Not against it, will be fun to watch something new. And I'm happy for Gorges to FINALLY have a high quality defenseman at his side.
I'm getting pretty fed up with gill personally... I think his pk performances are overblown when put in perspective with the rest of his game. I'd be glad to make him a 7th dman and let him play through his good stretches... But I don't think he is a 82 game player anymore, and when we play a lot during a 2 weeks span, he looks like he needs a rest, big time.
Spacek is the other disapointing player so far, but he's been more reliable 5 on 5 and just as good if not better than gill on the pk.
I'd like to experiment this, but I know changing defense pairing over and over isnt the best of ideas... in a hypothetical world, that is.
To all the people who laugh at the fourth line, please go compare it to all the other fourth lines in the league. It's really not that bad. Plus, it's a fourth line, so who cares?
I would rather see Plekanec on the first wave of the PP, or at least have him play with Markov, but what can you do? At least the second wave won't be a turnover machine anymore.
The best decision is to remove Pouliot from the PP. Next, he needs to be removed from the NHL...
