We witnessed a Sedin score 100 points. Will we witness a Sedin scoring 50 goals?

83/84 - 30
84/85 - 37
85/86 - 31

the difference between loob and sedin is that loob wasn't a pass first mentality player, he was a goal scorer as much as he was a playmaker, or even more a goal scorer, and in his last season in the swedish elite league, before he came over to the nhl and calgary, he scored, regular season and playoffs, 52 goals in 44 games

50 goals is doable, but 40 is more likely. Like other posters have mentioned already, the Sedins play a very team oriented style, and are likely to pass up scoring chances for even better ones to their linemates.

If Daniel told Henrik he'd like a scoring title, too, I think they could do it. If Henrik wanted another one, I think they could do that, too. Either scenario might include fifty goals.

I liked what the province said that Henrik may be an amazing player, but he's probably a better brother, and it's not surprising that he seems to be looking more for Daniel this season.

Oh undoubtedly he was a prolific scorer. It's just he jumped 13 goals from his previous best to notch 50 that year. Daniel's current career best is 36, only 1 less than Loob's second best year. So it's possible, and an interesting paralell.

Daniel is the "shoot first" player out of the Twins, too.

Key note is out of the Twins. D. Sedin can score 50 if he decides to shot more instead of trying to create the perfect play but given how Burrows is back, odds are you will see them trying to create the perfect play more often than before and thus his goal scoring pace will likely drop to ~40. Assuming the line stays healthy, that means he'll probably end up in the mid 40s as many have guessed.

Perfect example of this was last year when D. Sedin got hurt.

10 games in 19 games for H. Sedin while D. Sedin was out and 19 goals in 63 games when he wasn't hurt.

Daniel's pace for last year...
29/63 = .46

So average that out over 71 games = 33 goals + 8 = 41 goals + possible improvements/better PP (with Kesler)/better offensive defense = mid 40s (if the 'nucks actually start getting PPs...).

My guess would be ~42 goals if the line remains healthy for the remaining 71 games.

It is possible,he is on a great pace so far but that also may be due to the fact some teams are still juggling their lines and developing chemistry with their respective teams. Everyone knew about the Sedins and how dangerous they are but now since Henrik has won the Art and Hart last year, coaches are keeping their sharp eye on them, limiting their chances, giving the twins a hard time whenever they can under the table. Thats were secondary scoring takes place. But over the years the Sedins have found ways to keep consistent and durable, point per game players, franchise face, surely they can find a way,Henrik the playmaker and Daniel the scoreer,as we always hear it,Henrik has shown his skill with the points but will Daniel make it up in goals?

Like said previously,Daniel has all the potential, the perfect playmaker, his twin brother Henrik Sedin, both of them are telephatic, both of them can connect, some days better than others but thats how it goes.Stay consistent, healthy, and both of them can do more wonders being in their prime at the moment. Danny can sure crack 50 on this pace, hopefully he can patch up a Richard this season.Go Sedins!

I think we are all familiar with the Gretzky quote: Wayne Gretzky said: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

If Daniel keeps shooting,he's bound to keep scoring, regardless of his shooting percentage.

What speaks for Daniel reaching 50 so far is that he has been consistent; one goal in almost every game, rather than scoring 3 goals in one game and not at all in the following 3 games.

I said at the beginning of the season after watching them do so well in the preseason, that Danny would get 40 goals this year, my buddy says 50 as well. IMHO I think Daniel wants 50! So I'd move him to the otherside of the ice. Put him on the right wing where he can get set up as the shooter, Burrows is a natural LW much like Dan, so why not give them the freedom to switch and create more for Daniel.

Vigneault, the organization and especially the twins will do what is needed to win games. That is the bottom line and it is why we find success because everyone has bought into the team concept.

That said, last season when Henrik was fighting for the scoring title, Vigneault, the organization and the entire team made sure he was given every opportunity to succeed. Case in point was his huge final game that secured him the title.

If Daniel maintains a pace that puts him in a position to threaten 50, the Rocket trophy or the scoring title, there is little doubt we will see a little more attention paid to helping him achieve that as long as the team isn't put in a position to fail.

-----

I see both the twins breaking 100 points, and with a little luck they can challenge more than a few individual titles.
