Quote:
The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has signed goaltender Jack Campbell to a three-year entry-level contract. Campbell was Dallas’ first-round selection (No. 11 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Campbell, 18, is currently playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League, having appeared in 12 games so far this season with a 6-5-0 record, a 3.81 goals-against-average (GAA), and an .882 save percentage.

“Jack is a very promising player for the future of our organization,” said Stars General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk. “He has a strong work ethic and we are looking forward to watching him develop as his career progresses.”
So he has a shot at the team next year, I thought you couldnt play minors if you where playing juniors until you where at least 20?

I have some confuse on that

He was drafted out of the US NTDP, so he should be eligible to play in the AHL as early as.. now. I guess they signed him because they don't like his situation in Windsor. They'll probably let him finish the season, but I suppose it's good to have options.

It's an agreement between the CHL and NHL, yeah.

Haven't got to see him play this season, but can anyone comment on his performance? I imagine there is an adjustment period for him this season but those numbers taken at face value are atrocious.
