Picard has deserved it in my opinion, he's played up to and even exceeded expectations in most of the games he's played.

I feel for O'Byrne, I really do. I was always a fan of his but it just seems he never got the confidence he needed to develop properly. Hopefully he gets a crack on a team that has room for him to play every night.

Didn't know he was up here for pts. Hes here for the pk and a reliable player on the fourth line thats how. You would think people would know why hes here after the playoff run. Jeez

He's been solid for his role, first-pairing PK minutes and solid 4th line minutes. Of course the offense isn't really there, but that's also not why he is there.

Josh Gorges is -3.

I bet if O'Byrne is getting traded, Gauthier would trade him for a pick. Probably either a 4th or a 5th round pick.

Now, I wouldn't be surprised.

I wouldnt mind a 4th or 5th for O'Byrne. sheds 1$ mill of salary for us and get a draft pick out of it sweeeeet! lol maybe he will be involved in deal for Bieksa? OB is a BC boy. and could help motivate him, in past year and a half he has done alot to impress us of what we thought he would be. by 2014 he will be a good shut down Dman with a west coast team in my opinion maybe not vancouver

Not even a little. Hopefully Tinordi will develop better then this guy did.. sure he can fight, and he hits pretty good too here and there, but everything else, is ECHL par.

Yep.

It's not like USS Hal Gill and Roman Hamrlik HAVE to be signed to new contracts next year.

Obyrne looked great in preseason (last year) too bad he got injured and seemed to regress back to his old ways when he got back. I'd still like to see him get one more quality chance before we ship him out. But it does look like his days are numbered.

I haven't seen anything I like from Picard so far and I dont get the positivity about him I really don't. I mean the guy is good for a 6th/7th d but in the games I seen him play all I remember from him in one of his games was terrible first passes from our zone and creating chances for the other teams. He does a lot of the small things right but there was too many bad things I've seen from him that stood out more.

Not bashing just giving my honest opinion because i sure hope he isn't signed again next year to take over gill's spot if hes let go.

I feel for O'byrne but at this point, I'd ship him to Hamilton and give him ice time. He's hardly played the last two years. He desperately needs game time.

I'd try hang on to him for next year as injuries are likely at some point, Hammer is also gone next year. It be a shame to give up a NHL ready dmen for a 5th round pick.

He would have to clear waivers and Tony Marinaro said he has it on good information that he knows of atleast one team that would take a chance on him.

It's a long season - were bound to get stung by injuries on the backend and I have absolutely no problem with O'Byrne in the lineup.

We have Yannick Weber & Mathieu Carle that are NHL ready, and O'Byrne is 28. Also is a one way player and would have to clear waivers, I wouldn't mind losing him for nothing to clear little salary space for breathing room, we also have Alex Henry yes a career AHLer but holds good leadership and is effective.

O'B = yet another mishandled young player full of promise. He'll land somewhere and develop into a fine player no doubt.
