If he's that close and keeps up his play, he'll come back.

The Good:
Selanne
Selanne
Selanne
Palmeiri
Mara's shot block didn't result in an injury

The Bad:
Getzlaf was so invisible but still manages to put up points.

Selanne played great, I thought Hiller played great, Palmeiri looked ok but I'm hesitant to put too much faith in him..

Getzlaf really is a smart player, I don't know how many times I've watched him to exactly what he did on that play and somehow coast his big frame right in behind the D wide open in the slot for the guaranteed goal.

Good game! Just wanted to say Fowler really impressed me a lot. He was very poised out there and did not look like a 18 year old rookie.

Until we play each other again, good luck!

Rare post from me lately. Got to watch a game on tv finally in the new place and Cox is fixing the internet in the afternoon I hope.

Game wasn't too bad I liked the pace for the most part. Glad to see Fowler is still Fowler and good to see Palmeiri with his first NHL goal

Hiller played great. He really didn't have a chance at either of the two goals.

Dammit. I feel asleep about halfway through the third. Pretty sick to see Palmieri tied it! Also nice to see Getzy get the winner.

The best Ducks game this far, even when the 1st line was playing poor and lazy again. Yes, Getzlaf scored in overtime and Ryan´s pass was nice, but still the whole trio was very average.

Selanne was king of the rink, was only 2nd star

Saw the goal but didn't get to watch the whole game...how did Palmieri look on his shifts overall? Did he handle any significant defensive pressure? Puck control? Etc.?

Thanks guys.

If only he could avoid major giveaways in his zone, he could be a US version of a Lidstrom (crossing fingers)

He was pretty quiet until the goal, other than the one other grade A scoring chance that was pretty nice.

I wanted to yell at him to keep his feet moving. I think he was nervous, but will get better.

Not a lot of significant puck possession for him.

Overall a good first game.

I hope this triggers some boost of confidence in the team and gets them to beat the pens and sharks. Especially the sharks...

Indeed, he drew penalties and looked like he was working extremely hard.

This was the first game I was able to attend this year and all I have to say is that Selanne kid sure has a bright future ahead of him! Simply an amazing performance, well worth the ticket cost.

i mean, reading some of his team's fans saying he won't ever become an NHL regular or that he is "slow as hell" i am left wondering if i got his number right.. isn't he #63?

i've seen him play only 3 full games, but every time he looked to me like an NHL 3rd liner at worst, and in this game he didn't look slow at all imo.

btw, i think Ducks' chances to enjoy any kind of success this season go through contribution by Bonino, Sbisa and Lupul. They need 3 scoring lines and Carlyle needs to stop overplaying the big guns. Too long shifts, too tired legs out there. Is he blind or what, you can't win consistenly in the NHL that way.
