Simply put: The 3 guys who are paid a lot of money to provide offense aren't.

Sure, there have been good signs, some hustle, but 14 games into the season you need production not signs. Hopefully something clicks soon.

Two big tests next week, should be fun.

J martin looked like carbo tonight rolling dice between periods to see who got to play with who.

Take it one step further he can play PK subban as forward next game.

It's a bad game. They happen. They need to not make it a habit like they did last year though.

Martin needs to stop playing roulette with the lines. Him going to panic mode when he didn't have to touch a damn thing is not a good sign. Just keep the lines stable and let them work themselves out of it. Gionta is off the schneid. maybe that'll help.

Wish they'd send him down for White. We could use a little grit and Eller won't suffer from dominating the AHL.

I just hope the beginning of the season was not a fluke. When you think about it, since Gomez doesn't care at all and he's playing around 20 minutes a game, when you got Camalleri and Gionta (he scored tonight tough) who are having alot of difficulty to create offense. When you got only one line who is producing, you will lose often and this is what is happening.

I mean since 4-5 games we sucked alot. Even yesterday we sucked (still managed to win thank you Price). I just hope Gomez would play for atleast 1/4 of his salaray, even as a 3rd liner he was bad.

Gionta finally scores (thank Heaven)... after getting off of the Gomez line.

Pouliot's best games of the year was last night... off the Gomez line.

The problem with the Gomez line is, well, Gomez.

Here's the thing: Gomez is too predictable.

He hardly ever shoots, and hence the opposition is always prepared for him to pass, and that means his wingers get covered more than they would be if Gomez shot the puck himself a bit.

Gomez needs to start taking more shots, if for no other reason than to keep the opposition honest.

Also, our defense is way too old, slow, and soft. This lineup badly needs some more jam on it, particularly on defense.

So... where would this team be without Price's play so far this season?

At least we have 30 million next year to retool

Gomez was taking some shots tonight, they just completely missed the net.

I think team felt they were better with Markov and didnt need to play as hard as without Markov.

Markov will get better and we need him to fix our PP (eventually)

Love how Kostitsyn had to play on the left side to accommodate Lapierre on that line.

Gomez and Gionta at least looked better tonight and was nice to see Gio finally score.

How the **** did Hal Gill not get first star? Kovalev didn't score once, Gill got both of those goals and I assume the score sheet will be updated to correct that soon when they review the goals.

Gill with 2 goals is definitely my first star tonight. (Am I wrong here, those were both deflections off of him right?)

God that pissed me off... eh, oh well, looking forward to Tuesday... and hoping to god that Gio getting that goal will wake him up.

Gomez slows down when he enters the zone, which I really can't understand. He didn't used to. Now he enters the zone, skates towards the boards and stops, then looks for a pass. Ugh. So frustrating to watch. He drags down everyone he plays with because of it. Tonight it was AK's turn to have absolutely no chance of even coming close to a scoring opp.

I have no problem benching a guy to send a message. Sit him down next game, let Eller play in his place, and see what happens. Given the way Martin is throwing darts to make his lines, hard to imagine this option hasn't come up yet...

Just so we're clear: Gionta scoring had nothing to do with being separated from Gomez. It was simply bound to happen with how much he was shooting.

Hopefully the Habs' coaching staff isn't fooled, but I haven't been too impressed with them this game.

Plekanec comes back from the flu and is still better than the other three guys who are paid to score as well. Great game for Pleks.

PHD line was pretty good. Not as effective as last night, but they played hard.

Pyatt was great on the PK, but below average at ES.

Spacek and Hamrlik had good games, IMO. (Minus the Spacek penalty at the end of the game).

Price was solid.

Gomez is something else.

The defense played well on the PK. Too bad about the goal because we did exactly what anyone on the PK wants to do - block the shot. Lucky bounce.

Boyd is not very good. His pre-season really raised expectations and that was probably unfair, but since the first few games of the season he's been blah.

Moen should not be on a scoring line. Whatsoever. Put Eller there or Lapierre.

I would have had;

Plekanec - Halpern - Cammalleri
Pouliot
Markov - Subban

Kostitsyn next in line.

I dont think Lapierre is aware of the situation.. His job in the NHL is far from being guarenteed.. He has to step up big time..

I would play Akost over Pouliot easy. I wouldn't mind this if Halpern is there for the faceoff only then busts his ass back to the bench for andrei.
