I'm not sure what any of your post was responding to cause we were talking about Palmateer not Vaive, Salming or Clark.

However, one think I will point out is Salming was NOT near the end of his career in the 80's.

and I guess only the players on those 11 cup winning teams can be considered too.

Good job Ray Bourque ended up winning with the Avs otherwise he could never be considered one of the Bruins greatest players.

Exactly, he piggybacked his way to a Cup. He required a team with great leadership to go all the way.

Keon was the best Leaf I ever saw. Played his best in the biggest games. #2 was The Big M. My father's 79 and would take Teeder Kennedy any day of the week.

I'd take Salming as the best d man. There wasn't a clear #1 on the 60's team, Brewer,Baun,Stanley,and Horton were all good, and they always added a vet when needed, whether it be Pronovost,Pilote etc.
