Who replaces Gilbert?

Its become kind of obvious that theres an issue with the way this team is developing and handling prospects. is this just gilberts fault or does it go to paddock as well? whos out there that could do a better job? would you prefer to develop a coach or go go with a more established guy?

ive contended for a while they should write ken hitchcock a big fat check to be director of player personell development and send him up there to ride the bus. pat quinn is another guy id give a shot to. if you want players to come up and be nhl ready you should have someone down there whos had success at the nhl level

John Stevens and invite Patrick Maroon back.

This has gotten absurd.

Get iron mike. It really depends on what happened with Maroon whether or not he can come back. Some things players do you have to turn the page, again depends on what really happened. Tocchet was approached about this job in the summer, so who knows.

Tocchet said no though. He wants an NHL job. I'm curious if the same thing already happened to Stevens.

That said, if we were so willing to get away from Gilbert before, why is he still there?

Yes he did. Cant answer that one. My guess is they just wanted to bring tocchet back into the organization, if not then keep gilbert. At this point whether or not gilbert is the main problem, the lack of talent is the main issue imo, he needs to go and they need to start fresh. I think Paddock has full authority with Shooter not really in the loop so to speak. I would also like to see the big swede let go as well. I guy i always liked was Ryan Mcgill. I have no idea where or if he is coaching today. Former flyer as well lol.

Maybe Maroon? He supposedly has experience at being a ring leader, that can easily translate

I'm actually quite curious what happens with Tocchet, I didn't think he did a bad job down in TB (he just didn't have a lot to work with). Maybe he steps in as an assistant here when one of the crew moves on to greener pastures, or (if he hangs around long enough) he steps in for Lavi when the current coaching life cycle runs its course.

Stevens is a top assistant in L.A. and it's working out fairly well for him. I doubt he'd leave this soon for anything other than a head coaching job.

Especially going from the city of angels to bumble**** upstate New York, no offense to anyone who lives there, but let's not compare it to sunny Los Angeles.

I'd rather get shot in the dick twice than live in LA.

Acid rain, no less. There's an awesome cloud of nuclear leftovers from the tests out west in the Cold War that has settled in over the upstate region.

Funny, that thought crossed my mind just before I scrolled down to your post! Bit scary, but it not unlike this organization to do just that.

I can see it now, cote as coach... if you play a bad game you have to punch his face until you tire out.

I am not nuts about California in general, mostly cause I hate their car laws and self righteousness to tell us that everything is deemed by their state to cause cancer. But, if you gave me the choice of Adirondack or LA, well I am gonna go with the California girls, they'll melt my popsicles.

I'd say Lappy, but I think this team would give him a bigger headache.

I like Riley, but he's not ready to be a head coach.

That music video is idiotic. I'd choose L.A. too, at least to live there temporarily, I don't think I'd want to be there permanently. Also John Stevens has kids, doesn't he? If so they just started a new school this year, I doubt he wants to move them out or leave them to live across the country alone.
