Cooper reporting Lindback will start tonight per Trotz. I'd say this was a planned start all along...

Two weeks since the Preds won a game. They are 2-4-3 since starting 3-0. Ducks just beat Tampa and Pittsburgh. Not much reason to believe in a Predators victory tonight, other than the fact that they always seem to pull one out when we think there is no hope left.

Where did you see this? Maybe because of Parros?

As an aside, what the heck has happened to Tootoo to make it look like he deserves a spot skating with skilled players? He consistently is digging pucks out of the corners, making passes onto the tape of players in shooting position, playing under control... He looks more like Scott Walker than Wade Belak.

SK should be on the second line, he has the talent for it, this team has no offense... He has 2 goals less than the best scorer Sullivan who plays on all pp, with better players and twice the time..

Why is everyone so surprised at sitting SK? It's the Trotz mantra. Sit the guy who is performing offensively. Dress the enforcer since they have Parros in their lineup. They'll beat us up all night, Trotz will take numbers for the next game and nothing will ever happen from it. This also makes sense since we'll be playing a second game in less than 24 hours and end up rolling 11 forwards for the most part as opposed to being able to roll 4 lines throughout the game. Makes perfect sense. We've seen this all too many times in the past and we're surprised by this? I don't get it but this is the way this team works with Trotz in charge.

Unless we decide to actually play physical and challenge them on this level, there is no reason to dress Belak. Between Tootoo, O'Brien and Weber, there should be no reason they push us around. It's not as if Belak will play a bunch. Love this philosophy, can't score, sit the hot guy and bring in a guy that might get 5 minutes. Yeah. It makes as much sense as playing Smithson to start the second period last night when we're down two goals. Play not to lose. Play defensive hockey all the time, no matter the score. Play your game. Well, when your game isn't effective, the strategy needs to change.

Going out to Bleachers to watch the game with other folks. Not expecting anything from the guys and the way Trotz is managing the team, we shouldn't expect anything.

I'm tired of the excuses. Trotz is incapable of changing his "stategy" despite evidence that isn't working. How long did it take him to see that Hamhuis and Klein weren't gelling as a pair? 2/3rds of a season. Sitting one of the few guys that has produced the last couple of games for a slow not so great enforcer? Yeah that shows real genius.

I'm giving Trotz the benefit of the doubt and saying SK is injured/sick until i hear the words "healthy scratch".

While i disagree with many things Trotz does (Hammer/Klien, defense first, etc.) I can't disagree with the results. He loses some battles, but the guy knows how to win the war.

Actually this would be his last goal. I remember it well. And for some reason I can't get the youtube embed to work.

I would say just the opposite. He can win battles but he can't win the war. 5 first round playoff losses is winning the war? You are watching a different war than I am.

Obviously. If SK is a healthy scratch, I will be mad.

I guess we just define "war" differently. We are outclassed on paper by at least 20 teams, yet we consistently make the playoffs. He knows how to get us to the playoffs, but we just arent talented enough to win once we're there. Give it a few years, we'll get more fans, more revenue, a higher payroll, etc. Then let's see if we can bring the cup to nashville.

I'm not in disagreement with playing Belak tonight. We need a little shakeup in the lineup, and it's good to have a fighter on hand when playing the Ducks. I am surprised, however, to see that SK is the one sitting. On the other hand, I don't know who I would sit in favor of him. We needed a shakeup though.

While that's all fine and good, you'll also lose fans by continually losing in the playoffs. There are two sides to that story. No one here is going anywhere but the casual fan doesn't see the depth of what we see during the course of a season. It's about results and while the regular season war has been good, the playoff war hasn't been. You have to take advantage of situations and last year we had a team on the ropes and weren't able to put them away. At some point we need to learn to smell the blood and bury the other team or this will continue to happen.

I am in this for the long haul with this team but others may not see it the same way.
