Wrap-Arounds!

Tonights game has been awful but to make matters worse i think they tried about 12 wrap-arounds. I am here to watch an NHL hockey team not an Pewee mother ****in team. This is a joke i dont care if we scored a goal 1 time using them, this is the NHL and to see guys like Fro, Avery etc lazily using the wrap-arounds is really pathetic. An NHL goalie should not allow those to go in and it just kills the play. I dont know who is behind this or what, but we will be dead last if we continue ruining ny chances with these wrap-arounds and constant throwing the puck blindly in front of the net. NO Skill, NO passing, NO quality shooting. This is really a joke to watch.

It really is...I dont remember 1 QUALITY scoring chance (Besides the gift to Anisimov)...We are always skating behind our net which turns into nothing most of the time, or trying wrap arounds...We never even attempt passes through the slot or anything...Hopefully they get this fixed, I know we are playing hurt, but so are a ton of teams in the NHL.

Ya seeing as that all he seems to do but its not just him, as Anisimov, Avery, Boyle even Dubi who was asleep tonight are constantly trying this almost every play.

Lol, Frolov has been doing wrap arounds for years. You're all just getting used to it.

he'll score about 5-8 a year.

To be somewhat fair, the Blues closed up the slot pretty well.

He's about 0 for 79 this year.

Nope - it's now an equal-opportunity thing. Frolov has released the patent rights, and all can use it.

Isn't that great.

What a great way to forgo all the effort they put in to getting the puck and holding onto it in prime territory.

Then, to lame-out with the feeble stuff that Conklin laughed at all game.

Sheesh.

Exactly. I honestly think that The coach has something to do with this in telling his players to "Just get it on net" Seriously how many skillful goals have we seen all year, i cant think of one at the moment besides Boyle in T.O.

Actually, there have been some beautiful goals this year, IMO. I just thought tonight was a real stinker, worse than the Flyers game.
St. Louis gets some credit for it, they are pretty good at what they do. After Dubinsky's slick no-look pass to Callahan in the first, I never saw much at all from the Rangers in terms of getting into and fighting over prime slot territory.

Has Frolov always aggressively tried to score on wrap arounds or did he just start doing this when he joined the Rangers? Are there any LA Kings fans around to confirm this?

Kings fans have confirmed that he's tried wrap arounds his whole career in various threads.

Hell, a Kings fan confirmed it in this very thread.

It mostly just Frolov that keeps trying these wrap arounds every game. Its getting frustrating watching him try it every game. He is scared to shoot the puck.

I dont have a problem with them skating behind the net. Avery has been very good with his passes from behind the net. They scored quite a few goals from passes from behind the net.

Yes, they did, but nothing close to that tonight. Frightfully bad at getting in the slot and giving someone a stick on the ice as a target to pass to. Avery can work really hard, but without someone open out front to feed it to, it leads to feeble attempts from the side (sorry, but they might as well be wrap-arounds, except they are a slow-mo and completely useless version, no speed equals no chance).
Obviously the Blues had something to do with that, but also hope to see a better presence in the slot, taking the lumps and just pushing things harder.

This is one of the least talented teams in the league even with Gaborik. What do you guys expect from them?

We were always annoyed with Frolov about that. He has a heavy shot but he almost refuses to talk it often. It's hard watching Alex play because you can see all the talent that he has posses but he always does about 10 things a game that will drive you absolutely insane.

I guarantee you though the wrap arounds won't stop. He'll get a couple each year. I still like the guy, but damn he's a goofy mother ****er.

totally agree. this team needs to outwork the hell out of the opposition to even remotely have a chance at winning. bring in gabby and theyll have some better results.
