Very sad news, made worse by the fact that it was completely unnecessary.

Thats a tragedy. I thought he was in stable condition. I wonder what this means for Heatley in terms of legal stuff, God knows it will be tough for him to live with.

My prayers go out to Snyders family. This is such a terrible tragedy.

well that's certainly unfortunate. heatley's certainly gonna get vehicular homicide for this now. i don't know how celebrities get around these things. $$$ and community service. i'm sure atlanta will all have patches this season. #25 i believe he was.

That is so sad. What a waste.

I'll always remember Snyder playing the Rangers (last year? two years ago?) and bugging the living sh*&& out of Lindros to the point where Big Eric lost it and jumped little Dan. He flat out dominated 88. He had a lot of heart.

I had this feeling he was beginning to stabilize and was going to pull through, so now I am just ... stunned.

This was a very bad off-season for hockey.

This sucks, plain and simple. No parent should have to go through that.

What a nightmare for everyone involved. Very sad.
Wasn't Mac T involved in accident where he killed someone when he first came into the league?

About 2 or 3 years into his NHL career. Drunk driving and he killed woman. Spent a year in a minimal security prison. Missed the 84-85 hockey season. He was then with the Bruins, they traded him and he began again with the Oilers.
