So we traded Sergei Kostitsyn for a Boyd , and we put him on waivers after 14 games ? WTF is that. Poor management here......

I know SK didn't have great value , but we litteraly give him for nothing.

Might just be PG wanting Boyd to get another chance somewhere else in the NHL or simply getting more playing time in the AHL.

Ellis was also part of the deal.

Don't forget the couple of hours of Dan Ellis in the Bleu Blanc Rouge

Sergei needed to go,and to be honest with the attitude problems he had we are even lucky a team traded for him and gave something in return, not that it helped us but anyways.AK doesn't have to worry about his brother anymore and he is doing just fine

I think SK being gone is better for all parties involved.

Well this would have to mean someone is being called up right? If they are sending Boyd down we only have 12 forwards on the roster, no way they won't be calling somebody up. Interesting. I honestly have no debate in my mind that Boyd was the worst forward of the bunch. But he looked pretty good in preseason. I wouldn't say he has no value yet, but I think we could get more out of a call up at the moment.

as i said saturday, more Eller less Boyd. I thought he was a good pickup at the time. Oh well, another player we got rid of for nothing

Weird... only played 9 games the season. The kid has potential and only 24 yrs old. Good for Hamilton but i feel he'll be claimed. Florida or Isles.

I thought Boyd would have been a perfect 3rd line player this year, but he was quite dissapointing. He wasn't good in the D zone, and created little in the offesne zone. Not saying it was just all his fault for the line's failure, but he didn't help. Before this season, I always wondered why Calgary and Nashville let him go, perhaps we know why now.

It probably means more Eller or another upstart from Hamilton... Likely good news.

Why does everyone think that White is the one getting a call-up? If I were to call up one of the Bulldogs I would choose one of the scoring forwards, not another grinder.

With Boyd now gone, we must call someone up.

And to say people thought he added "much needed chemestry" to our team.
Gauthier's moves are definitely not looking good so far.

Good. Classic case of addition by subtraction.

We traded him for two UFAs. We happened to sign one of those UFAs ourselves, but we did trade him with the full knowledge that we were giving him away.

And he hasn't exactly done anything in Nashville to make anyone regret that.

Boyd working out or not working out should be judged on its own merits.

I suspect they wanted the flexibility to recall someone if necessary and don't want to carry 23 players. I am just surprised it wasn't O'Byrne.

People need to get over this pre-lockout mentality that losing someone for nothing is the end of the world. You always get something and in most cases, the cap space is more valuable than any return another team could give you.

Nothing wierd. No drama. He's a young guy and they thought someone could do a better job in Hamilton. Why are people crying?

P.S. Oh, I see. Some posters think that we lost the Kostitsyn trade. Are they suppose to win every trade? I mean, we're going to judge the Halak trade in 1 or 2 years, but this... We litteraly sent Kostitsyn elsewhere, that's it. Boyd was a 4th liner there, he's a 4th liner here.

Boyd was not a UFA when we acquired him he had 1 more year on his contract, he's a RFA next july. Ellis was UFA.

WOW, really? I'm shocked. I know hes not been the best on the team, but for Christ Sake put Spacek on Waivers.

I hope Boyd can make it through the waiver wire and play some top 6 minutes in Hamilton.

Because none of the other forwards are NHL ready, I'd say. I still say Weber getting a call up, if anyone.

Let's wait and see. Still fighting an injury he had previously. While we all think he won't amount to anything, we all know what trades can do to players. Sergei has talent. Needs to start to be a professional and then use it. But I remember we had a whole lot of expectations for him and thought he might have in him to become better than his bro. So let's wait and see there. Truly, he didn't have a lot of value then. I just wished we would have gotten rid of him before he had less than zero value....

What good would putting Spacek on waivers do? Lower his trade Value and he still counts on the cap. Stupid
