RT @PSPhantoms: Phantoms have announced a conference call with Paul Holmgren at 8:45. It's expected Greg Gilbert has been let go.

It depends on what he did on whether or not you can bring him back. whatever he did he was warned previously. It isnt that simple to just bring him back. If they do he would be on a the shortest leash possible.

Surprised they actually realized he needed to be let go. I was expecting them to drag their feet like they did with Stevens (although, Stevens' teams did well).

Should make Maroon's situation interesting all that much more interesting.

Seriously.

It really makes you wonder what could've happened with the Maroon issue had Gilbert been taken care of a few weeks back.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Happy bout this. When your whole team doesnt trust you (including last seasons players), you know its the coach and not the players.

What makes you think Gilbert had anything to do with the maroon situation? Why do you have a hard time excepting that what happened was all Maroons fault? Why do you always look for another excuse to absolve the blame?

He's just going to come and say the "he never had a history before" argument again. I actually tend to agree with Shafer that the coach may have had something to do with Maroon's dismissal; but I'm just tired of reading about Maroon from Shafer haha.

Do you think some of the players stepped up and said something to someone? If so, do you think that is maybe why we havent heard any new news about Fat Pat and there is an outside chance we might come back?

he needed to go no doubt. Not going to disagree. Again though you refuse to put the blame on the player. you have no idea what Maroons issues were and whether the coach had anything to do with them. So stop making excuses for the guy.

I've been trying to contact Maroon about a possible feature article on HF. No dice.

So yeah, I'm interested in what's going on as well.

You had to know that when Maroon was dismissed that this wasn't over.

I would think oddly enough that Cote was probably asked his opinion as to what was going on down there as he was a fresh set of eyes and ears.

Yea, thats a good point. Cant really see the higher ups firing the coach based on what players in the AHL have to say about him.

RT @PSPhantoms: While I was driving up to GF, Flyers announce John Paddock will be interim coach.

I'm okay with Paddock, and I feel much more comfortable sending Wellwood back down.
