Looks like Max may not get a shot on the 2nd line after all.
For one game I wouldn't mind seeing:

Eller-Plekanec-Kostitsyn

Moen-Pyatt-Lapierre

I have to admit Martin shuffling the lines a la Carb is really starting to piss me the **** off. I liked Martin last year I found he was much better with the lines though. This year he's changing them up way too much and not giving the right guys the right amount of time on the right lines. Then he gives the wrong guys the wrong amount of time on the wrong lines.

I know there's obviously got to be some logical reasoning behind it but damn give Pouliot or Eller 10 games in the top six. It isn't like having Moen there is making it any better so even if they fail for 10 games it's not really a big loss, at least try to develop them.

I know he's probably a tough love kind of coach, he wants players to earn their time on the top lines, prove they can accomplish stuff without the support of star players. Often times that is how you can destroy a players confidence, put them on the top lines right away they produce then they slump and it all goes to ****.

I understand with Pouliot he's trying to build that foundation for his confidence and that all players are different.

But "lolwut" he finally puts Eller in the top 6 when Pouliot has done nothing but prove he's the one who should be given that chance.

I guess it's really a matter of chemistry then. He wants Pouliot to play with Darche and Halpern. How long do you think it will be though before these two guys start holding Ben back? Then what do we do trade for another solid 3rd liner to take Darches spot? And I'm not saying Darche has been bad but it's an unfair expectation to expect him to continue playing the way he has, same with Halpern.

I could see the line working with Halpern + Ben + Other good player on it, long term. With Darche though the line is basically designed to collapse eventually. Halpern can elevate his game to play with Pouliot consistently I don't think Darche can though. In the end if we're trying to work out the kinks so we have 3 solid scoring lines then I'm happy but if by game 20-25 we don't see a trade that solidifies this process or some consistent lines that prove the process of forming three scoring lines is actually working.... then Martin might find himself on my ****ar.

I lose my patience quickly when it comes to lines especially when they're being changed very frequently and the right people are never given enough (or any) chances. This isn't Guillame, Eller is a high end prospect and Pouliot is a hard worker with clear potential.

At least Pouliot is on a line that's working (and he was with Gomez and Gio for a while to start the season too so it's not like he didn't get his chance). Eller's been on an island in the bottom six. It's fine to work a young guy into the top six, but we've been missing a top six winger all year long, and outside of Pouliot, Eller is the only guy who's shown the talent capable of filling such a role...and what does he get? Like, 10 minutes of ice time with Cammalleri and A. Kost all year? And that's after everyone from Moen to Darche to Pyatt got a look before him. I just don't get Martin's approach here.

Has Keith Ballard been THAT bad in Vancouver? I mean I do understand they have a great D, but a healthy scratch?? Really?

Forget making a pitch for Bieksa... could be a good time to buy low on Ballard. Only thing is that contract... 4.2M for 5 years... Don't particularly want to take it on, but maybe a Spacek + Boyd for Ballard type of deal could work out for both teams, assuming Van actually wants to get rid of the guy.

No hes had injury problems. Hip surgery in off season and Concussion in beginning of season. They are just being careful with him imo.

we always get absolutely dominated and humiliated against the canucks. Pleeeease defence, do not leave Carey out to dry against his home team.

Awesome pic MIG (as usual).

Thing is, he has played really well every game this season. It's more up to fixing the abomination of a pp and getting our supposed scorers to score. Who else thinks they'll be facepalming while muttering "Spacekkk!" a lot tonight?

Stupid lines. Obviously they are concerned about us being too soft against Van. Just underscores the problem we seem to refuse to deal with. It took us 5 years to get four puck movers on defense, and it's been 15 years since we've had this problem, so I don't expect it to be solved any time soon.

Huh just realized Price has only started 1 game in his career against Vancouver, that shellacking we got on the diasastrous NW road trip last year. 7 goals against, .788 SV%...nowhere to go but up!

We shut them out at home last season, 3-0. And, we were the better team!

We usually show up against good teams since this is our first test of the season against a top team we'll see if that actually holds true. I think the Habs will have a good game. The Canuks are as much of a one line team as we are as they are being carried by the Sedins, although a player like Kesler can usually be a problem for Montreal.

We'll see. I'm more worried about the defense pairings then the line combinations. Pearn needs to get on the ball and get Subban away from Gill, and break up the Spaceman-Hammer unit.

If by 3-0 you meant 3-2, then yes, you did just that

You were probably thinking of two years ago though.

I don't want anyone to injure Carey Price and we already have O'Byrne who can score in his own net...

4-3 (OT) Habs W - Nucks L

Gotta go with my guys on this one, I don't think that they'll be particularly fond of letting the home crowd down tonight. Sure, the Canucks are the gem of the West but there's no way we don't see an amazing performance for our Smurfs tonight. I think that if the 1st period doesn't turn out well Martin will jumble up the lines and put Cammarelli Gomez and Gionta together. All in all.

Gionta(2G, 1A)(GWG)
Cammarelli (1G, 2A)
Gomez (2A)
Hamrlik(1A)
Plekanec (1A)
Kostitsyn (1A)
Eller(1G)

Burrows (1G,1A)
D. Sedin (2G)
H. Sedin (3A)
