The Habs PK was awesome tonight..
The D played a very solid game..
Price was simply stellar and deserved the SO with some amazing saves at the end..
Finally a PP goal although the PP still looks helplessly lost out there for the most part..
The lack of goals from the Habs offensive forwards is still a concern..
Chris Lee... Well just because he's Chris Lee..
Tremendous game by Price, and he played the calm game that he had shown glimpses of when he first joined the Canadiens. He allowed very few rebounds, and made himself large on a few in-tight opportunities.
The only disappointment tonight was the benching of Lars Eller. He showed some brilliance in the first period, then turned over the puck, and was stapled to the bench for the rest of the game. Obviously, Eller is still raw, has much to learn, but I wonder how long he stays in Montreal this season if Martin does not have the faith to put him on the ice in the third period.
I see jaybee showed up and even though he wants to, he still cannot be positive. C'mon we just won 2- 0 why is there something to complain about, never mind three things. Try being a fan instead of an critic.
Maybe I'm solo here, but Eller needs to dominate somewhere. He shows flashes but damn, I wish the guy would get some minutes...even a small stint in hamilton for kicks.
It may have to come to that. The Canadiens are playing tight games this year, and Martin is not showing much faith in having Eller on the ice during the difficult moments. He continues to show incredible skill on the puck when he gets the chance, the problem being that he does make turnovers, he is not developed defensively, and Martin does not trust him yet. It isn't the best way to develop this kid IMO, and I think he would benefit from going to Hamilton.
When I heard the "Carey" chants as he came out for the 1st star, I could only wonder how many of those same people were booing him in the first game of the preseason.
Same here. Validates what I've been saying about the fans in the Bell Center, you just have to win to get them on your side. Now the fans outside that don't know what they're talking about... I ignore them.
