Unofficial word is that Jake Muzzin will be on the way from Manchester today. No other call-ups are expected. I’ll have more on that when it’s official.
Drew Doughty will be paired with Rob Scuderi for Thursday’s game, Terry Murray said after practice. Murray said he had not yet decided how (or if) to use Jake Muzzin, or what the other defensive pairings would look like.
Murray also said that the Kings had not yet reached an official decision about whether to keep Kyle Clifford on the roster, but Murray said he planned to play Clifford on Thursday unless told otherwise. The fourth line has not yet been set. More notes and quotes to come…
Shocker. Scuds and DD. Just like I said. Also thought Richardson would get the 3rd line gig over Clifford. Now we just need to see Greene/JJ and DD44/Muzz.
Why not? They are a forward short on the active roster with both of them here.
Sort of. With Schenn and CLifford we have a full lineup +1 spare forward. We don't NEED a 23 man roster at all times.
All the forwards first in line are forwards the Kings want playing in Manchester unless otherwise necessary, and until Schenn or Clifford get sent down, it is not totally necessary.
I am aware of that. Nevertheless, a normal roster is 23, not 22, which is what the Kings will have unless there's a call up.
Agree with JDM. If we had a Peter Harrold equivalent for forwards -- a vet who can sit for long periods of time without stunting development -- I'd be all for a 23 man roster. As it stands, one of our rookies will already be sitting, no sense having someone else sit.
Well read the latest Hammond, Murray is saying he thinks Schenn should go back to Juniors. Clifford is staying.
Kings now have no extra forwards and 1 extra D....do we call someone up to ride the pine?
When Schenn is shipped off, I bet someone does get called up to ride the pine. Of course Harrold can play forward. Sort of. In a defenseman kind of way. So yes, I bet someone gets called up.
It depends on if Murray is happy with Lewis centering the 4th line while Poni is out and Richie is up on the 3rd.
If yes, then probably a guy like Clune. But if not, and Murray wants to try different looks on the 4th line, then Loki, Cliche and Moller are first in line.
