Nothing spectacular but decent. Crosby has proven he can hold his own against guys that are of similar stature and fighting experience.

I'd rather he drops the gloves in fights like this against guys like this...then not drop the gloves at all and run people from behind and stuff...

You mean like Letang did to Toby Petersen last night?

keep fighting crosby.
You mean he gets pissed off and fights when he and his team aren't playing well?!

Why are people giving him so much crap over this? The guy can't win doing anything. Suggesting it was similar to Semin's bongo'ing of Staal is preposterous.

Sid fights because he's strong enough to just haul guys down if they start jackhammering him. Plus he's undersized for an NHL player, he doesn't have to kick ass. Ovechkin doesn't fight because if he wins, "oh he outweighed/was taller than the guy." But if he loses, yeah he's got nothing to really gain by it.

Pens have quickly become one of my least favorite teams in the last year and change. Lots of gutlessness on that team.
Actually, if you had watched the game you would have seen Goddard, Rupp and Engelland trying all night to find a "Star" to go with them. There wasn't one guy on that team who would even make eye contact let alone go.

Right on the money. See my comment above. What a bunch of cornholers.

Except the Hart, Richard, Pearson, Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold. . .

It's the games best player fighting. It's not a matter of who he fought, obviously he's not going to be fighting any regulars.
I just find it rather comical that people find it a big deal he beat Matt " Pretty Boy " Niskanen. It's like bragging to your friends that you scored with the local town skank. If there's no challenge, why even bother talking about it?

I didn't see the game, just 4 Pens fighting with their visors on.

No hate either. Just stating facts.

Also, you appear to be a tool.

Have a great weekend!

Actuallly did see the game, and every Star skating away from Goddard, Rupp, Asham and Engelland all night. Seems like a pretty gutless team.

I am a tool. I'm OK with it.

Have a wonderful day Skippy!

While I am reading some of these posts, I can actually feel myself getting dumber.

It was a fight. Big flippin' deal how it was fought! All of you post-fight analyzers saying Crosby's "style" is bad have never scrapped anyone (and video games don't count, ladies). Go get yourself into a pro hockey fight and see how you make out.

My god, the guy can never do anything right.

Crosby won that fight pretty easily.

like the other poster said, it's the game's best player who threw down, not one of its more cheaper players....

Niskanen fought Crosby at Crosby's initiation.

Morrow fought Letang because of the hit on Petersen and their numerous exchanges of slashes and *****ing up the ice.

Benn fought Kennedy when Kennedy was coming to the defense of Malkin for a clean hit laid by Benn.

I honestly don't remember what precipitated the Benn/Kunitz fight.

This wasn't a game where the Stars came out just looking to fight. It was a game that just happened to see a handful of fights. This talk of the Stars cowering to all of Pittsburgh's boogie men is missing the point. I'm not sure how it would have been smart hockey to engage Pittsburgh's actual fighters. The Stars led pretty much the entire game. Why would you willingly throw down just for the sake of throwing down? Why give the opposition the lift that they would be looking for from a fight?
