Shelley was our prized free agent acquisition. Without Shelley, all would likely be lost. He is the engine that powers this vehicle down the road towards the Stanley Cup. The straw that stirs the drink, if you will.

Ok, I'm behind on my meds, so I'm gonna go back to my padded cell now and talk to imaginary creatures and whatever.

Go Flyers!

There isn't any way to justify it. At this point I just imagine it's just Laviolette and Homer trying to justify the signing by playing him constantly.

At least Homer didn't sign Billy Guerin. There's always a bright side, Sunshine

i like to think that lavi plays shelley, then after every game makes homer watch the shelley footage while staring at him in silent rage.

My story begins in nineteen-dickety-two. We had to say dickety because the Kaiser had stolen our word twenty. I chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles.
Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Philly. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. A he'd say; then B. C would usually follow...
You see, back in those days, rich men would ride around in Zeppelins, dropping coins on people, and one day I seen J.D. Rockefeller flying by. So I run out of the house with a big washtub. Anyway, about my washtub. I'd just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking-bird. We'd always have walking-bird on Thanksgiving, with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we'd all watch football, which in those days was called baseball.

Amen Sister ! I am 52 and have been watching the Flyers since day 1.Them Flyers teams in the mid 70s were the biggest ticket in sports in my opinion. You never had to worry about watching a boring game for sure !

I feel old when I see people on here who weren't fans yet during the 97 Cup run, when I was 12.

I became a fan when NHL 98 came out, as orange was my favorite colour and the flyers were good

Hell, I tell people that my favorite team of all-time was the 1987 Flyers, and most of them look at me as if they can't believe hockey was actually played way back in 1987...

I've only been an NHL and Flyers fan for a few years. I was a casual Avs fan a while before that though. My favorite players were Forsberg and Sakic growing up.

Dang, FlyHigh - that's almost Kevin Dank-worthy!

(and for the record - I agree)
