Riku Helenius DUI

Helenius got caught from DUI in Sweden.

http://www.iltasanomat.fi/urheilu/t/sm-liiga/2276029 (Link is in Finnish)

He's got very bad start this season (8gp 87,34% and 3,06GAA) and and things are going even worse now. The link says that club where Helenius plays, is now thinking couple of days whats gonna happen next..

edit. He's blood alcohol level was 0.03%, legal limit is 0.02%.

Damn, strict standards over there. You could get .03 by making out with some drunk girls, eating chicken Parmesan with some strong cooking wine, or drinking cough syrup.

That's not drunk. At. All.

To me, that's a non-story. That level is pretty much ridiculous in every way.

Yep its pretty low but law is the law. In Finland limit is 0,05% and is it 0,08% in United States..?

He was on the way to practise at the time..

edit offtopic. Couple days ago Canadian Scott Barney got DUI in Finland and had 0,17% BAC, he got immediately sacked from Finnish SM-Liiga team Saipa.

What's the limit in the US and Canada?

In Germany you lose your driver's license with 0.05 (even if you drive normally) and starting from 0.03 if your driving is suspicious etc.

Found the limits. It seems to be a little more complicated in the US: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_alcohol#Legal_limits

Wow, sounds pretty incredible to me, in this country is not a problem, just take some money and give to the policeman and you can go away without any problems. The power of the money still count here!

No matter what the level is he did break the law, it's not acceptable behaviour.

It sounds like law enforcement in Argentina has a whole other set of problems.

Nothing beats good old corruption.

Wikipedia: Corruption Perceptions Index

Poor Nordic countries...should have it in Argentinian style. I love it how you actually twist it to sound like you're proud of the way things are...

Well they got the same limit as in Sweden so that will get you nothing. You’re better of in Sweden, considering how expensive everything is in Norway, the are living high on their oil money, those SOB:s (Oslo Oilers some one?)

I don't think I'm proud of it, is a big problem in our society, we are accustomed to corruption and I understand for good cause and for bad cause, I don't want to give examples to avoid hurt susceptibilities, things like that happen in all the world, most of it in the government but most of the people can't see it.

Sweden is also one of the few, if not the only country, striving for zero traffic deaths. Gotta start somewhere. You know don't drink and drive, in Sweden that actually means just that.

Yes, I know it. Remember that an Argentinian channel make a trip to Sweden to show how things work and how prevent accidents, would be great if we can copy that system and implement here.
