It's true you can select a balloted player or a write-in:
"The 2011 NHL All-Star Fan Balloting site will feature interactive English and French ballots. Each player ballot includes video highlights and real-time player statistics. Fans will be permitted to select as few as one player -- a balloted player or write-in -- per online ballot. The NHL.com/vote ballot will be optimized for iPad users."
Make sure people know folks... Pleks and Price deserve this...
We're *****in about Price and the Caps only have three on the Ballot.
Yeah, that's the first glaring omission I noticed too.
Of the Habs players, Price for sure got shafted (but as some pointed out, thank the lord, given what happened after he played the rookie all-star game), and Plekanec should be on ahead of both Cammy and Gionta. The guy will never get enough credit for being the wizard he is.
I must say, beside the usual vote ballot mishaps, they still put Markov on the ballot, despite almost missing half of the season and half of the playoffs. Have we finally reached the day when Markov is recognized throughout the league?
To the OP... your conception of the voting is skewed. You do understand that they can't make the ballot to reflect the present season when there are only 15 games played so far? That's why they include the previous season and playoffs to make their choices.
That's why Kovy and Price were considered for 2009. Both were among the best players the season before.
Quite frankly, who gives a rat's ass? I'm quite happy to have Price and Pleks continue the season without the distraction of the ASG.
Let the playoffs be their showcase.
Agreed. I think the Allstar game's are meant for players like Markov and Cammy. I say we vote cammy there. He is allstar material. He's marketable, and could represent us well in the game. Markov also is just annually in the allstar games so its a good fit.
Guarantee Subban will be there for the young stars game, too. Pleks and Price don't need it.
