Speaking as a huge Gagne backer, trading Gagne made about a hundred times more sense, even disregarding the cap debacle, than trading Kimmo would. I'd go as far as to say Kimmo is one of the 3 least likely to be moved players on the entire team.
Above are all examples of what people think of Carter, a "35'ish goal scorer", which if he plays 82 games is around the 70pts mark, just under a ppg. I am going to find the scoring prediction thread because that is a much better example, a lot of people consider him an 80pt player which is equal to a ppg player. Even if he gets 70pts he is still in the Spezza range, $7mill cap hit.
There's a big difference between being a PPG and being a ~70 pt player on average. So, I appreciate that you just outed yourself as far as being full of **** with regard to this army of PPG people roaming around here.
See below, predictions just from a select few, but you can now see what people think of him:
So, after all your efforts, you turn up a handful of optimists... none of whom (other than BCF16, who is the boards avowed optimist supreme -- which you don't know because you showed up here one day, didn't read anything, and adopted a position of our collective conscience) had wildly high expectations for Carter (a few 80 pt seasons given healthy season, etc.).
