I'd look forward to watching Carle/Coburn/Meszaros try to play in his important spot and fail. We will then talk about how we need another #1 defender again

I love Kimmo and would hate to see him go to another team. I'd rather see Carle gone before Kimmo.

The reason I say that is because I cant see Homer dealing young d-man like Mes and Carle.

I will be utterly astonished if Kimmo doesn't finish out his contract here in Philly. I just don't see that possibility anywhere in the cards.

All talk about this being Kimmo's last season must cease and desist NOW! Don't talk about it and it won't happen

Speaking as a huge Gagne backer, trading Gagne made about a hundred times more sense, even disregarding the cap debacle, than trading Kimmo would. I'd go as far as to say Kimmo is one of the 3 least likely to be moved players on the entire team.

What exactly are we going to use 6.33m in cap space on?

We're basically at the 2010-11 cap for next year once everyone's re-signed.

Then on top of that there are now reports the cap could go up over 3.00m more?

It doesn't make sense. There's nothing we can gain by trading Timonen.

Who would we replace him him?

Ed Jovanovski? Why? Timonen is better and likely the same price.

Kaberle? Markov? Pitkanen?

The full list:
Jovanovski, Lidstrom, McCabe, Markov, Hamrlik, Hannan, Kaberle, Brewer, Pitkanen, Bieksa, Phillips, Rivet, Salo, Wisniewski, Erhoff, White, Staios, Wallin, Sopel, Daley, Vandermeer, Gill, Hedja, Huskins, Stuart, O'Brien, Montador, Martinek, Babchuk, Skrastins, O'Donnell, Foote, Erskine, Eminger, Salei, Alberts, Jurchina, Jones, Lukowich, Ericsson, Lilja, Mara, Greene, Strudwick, Pardy, Hale, Collins, Sulzer, Woywitka, Bagnall, Oystrick, Meyer, etc...

Why? I don't see a point.

Send a message via MSN to HoverCarle*
Timonen has a NMC.

Carle/Coburn will likely go if needed. Hopefully Carle

$6 mil per year sounds great for Carter, but I'm not a fan of such a long deal. This team has too many multi-year contracts. I'd be happier with 5 years.

Carle is definitely the first in my mind to deal for some cap relief.

And Bobrovsky has to be dealt! What would we talk about all summer if the G position was locked down?

It is locked down for two more years after this. Don't forget about Mr. Eriksson who should be coming over next year too.

10 more years of complaining about/defending Carter should fill that in fairly nicely.

Touché ! Did you see on Carter's third goal last night how he totally disrespected Zherdev and selfishly potted it himself?

Even if he gets 70pts he is still in the Spezza range, $7mill cap hit.
There's a big difference between being a PPG and being a ~70 pt player on average. So, I appreciate that you just outed yourself as far as being full of **** with regard to this army of PPG people roaming around here.

I mean, my God, it's just sad.

Zherdev was hawking at the blue line last night... didn't like that given the score.

hey, lets be serious.... similar to Gagne, Carter has yet to see a shoot-first chance that he hasn't taken.

Man, do you guys know hockey at all? Zherdev wasn't cherry picking, at all. He was at the defensive blue line and realized the puck was going to be grabbed by a teammate and took off.

It was a great read, not 'cherry picking.'

He may be a cherry picker, but using last night's breakaway as an example is moronic.

What led to the breakaway wasn't the only time he was doing it. Last night's breakaway was an example of him being a cherry picker.
