Gionta ahead of Plekanec? What the hell... Brian played well last year but so did Plekanec, and so far this year Plekanec is consistantly one of (if not the) Habs best player every game.

I hope Markov and Cammalleri make it at least.

Kessel, Phil?

He's the only leaf that deserve it but he certainly needs to be there. He's also the only all star caliber player on their team.

and Plekanec not being on that list makes sense (although he would deserve to be there)

Thornton, Toews, Malkin, Crosby, Backstrom, Getzlaf, E. Staal, Zetterberg... just to name a few C...

Each year it's the same story. At least if they get rid of the ASG we would not have to suffer through a multitude of threads where people are bashing the little details such as this.

Ok but isn't the all-star game supposed to be the place with all the best players?

I mean, the choices here are something special, don't you agree?

Price not getting much respect. Number 1 in wins and very good save % but 14th in goaltender power ratings per TSN. After Roloson, Giguere, and Ellis who have worse numbers.

We can still do that ?? Rory Fitzpatrick anyone ?

It's true you can select a balloted player or a write-in:

"The 2011 NHL All-Star Fan Balloting site will feature interactive English and French ballots. Each player ballot includes video highlights and real-time player statistics. Fans will be permitted to select as few as one player -- a balloted player or write-in -- per online ballot. The NHL.com/vote ballot will be optimized for iPad users."

Make sure people know folks... Pleks and Price deserve this...

I really doubt Price checks out TSN to see what they think of him.

Yeah, that's the first glaring omission I noticed too.

Of the Habs players, Price for sure got shafted (but as some pointed out, thank the lord, given what happened after he played the rookie all-star game), and Plekanec should be on ahead of both Cammy and Gionta. The guy will never get enough credit for being the wizard he is.

NHL Fan Voting is a Joke

just peeking at the list of players on the NHL All Star Ballots ... can't believe some of the names on the ballots.. and some of the names left off the ballots...

Why put a player that is injured on that ballot?? Streit?

why do the Leafs have 4 players on the ballot and only 3 Habs??

and to be honnest none of the 3 Habs players deserved to be on that list.. Cammy, Markov and Gionta. Price and Plekanec should be on the ballot.

Why is Brian Campbell on that list?? Umberger??? Niemi???

no CLaude Giroux... Loui Eriksson...

I always thought the All-Stars were star of the present season... anyways this is a real joke..

I must say, beside the usual vote ballot mishaps, they still put Markov on the ballot, despite almost missing half of the season and half of the playoffs. Have we finally reached the day when Markov is recognized throughout the league?

To the OP... your conception of the voting is skewed. You do understand that they can't make the ballot to reflect the present season when there are only 15 games played so far? That's why they include the previous season and playoffs to make their choices.

That's why Kovy and Price were considered for 2009. Both were among the best players the season before.

I think all allstar voting for all leagues is a joke.

We need to all use our nerd powers to vote a #7 d like Picard in with an overwhelming number of votes.

Dunno what ur looking at but clearly shows Price having worse numbers on a team that wins more when this was updated nov 9th.

Quite frankly, who gives a rat's ass? I'm quite happy to have Price and Pleks continue the season without the distraction of the ASG.

Let the playoffs be their showcase.

Agreed. I think the Allstar game's are meant for players like Markov and Cammy. I say we vote cammy there. He is allstar material. He's marketable, and could represent us well in the game. Markov also is just annually in the allstar games so its a good fit.

Guarantee Subban will be there for the young stars game, too. Pleks and Price don't need it.

VOTE FOR MARKOV AND CAMMY!!
