If we can't afford to pay Hamhuis 4.5M to play on the 2nd pairing how could we pay Kimmo 6?

He's not better than Suter or Weber.

some of those games missed aren't due to injury thuogh. specifically spaling and sulzer. otherwise you add belak to your list.

Because Kimmo is way better than Hamhuis. He's worth his money. Hamhuis, IMO, won't be worth his money (time will tell).

I'd say it's close between Suter and Kimmo, though I haven' seen Kimmo play a lot recently. Suter has a slight edge in the defensive zone, Kimmo has a slight edge in the offensive zone. I feel our PP would be better with Kimmo over Suter. I think he's better on the PK too. Suter has has the edge at ES. It's close.

Did not add Belak, Laakso because frankly, those were expected. Spaling was, in my mind, the designated first call up, and Laakso the first designated first defensive call up.

What the heck is wrong with Lombardi? I saw him in like one game... A concussion wouldn't keep someone out this long would it? He won't be out 2 years like Sullivan will he? lol

Oh yes it would. I've had three myself, and after my third one (which I got playing hockey), the doctor told me not to even jog for a month, and no hockey again for 2-3. They are serious things.

But no word on Suter's IR status means he who play tonight??? I'm less concerned about Erat's impact if he doesn't play.

Trotz listed them both as probable after yesterday's practice and was quoted as saying unless something drastic happened, they'd both be in the lineup tonight. Roster stands at 23 with them active, so no roster moves would have to come today to activate them.

It's possible, but unlikely that you'd skip the morning skate without an injury. Guess if it's minor they could warm him up in pregame before making a decision, but this means Wilson is likely back in the lineup at center...

True, we shall see.

EDIT: Per Cooper, Trotz says Erat and Suter to play.

This just sucks losing an important player for a almost a third of the season (just guessing) to a head dinger. Especially odd when it didn't seem so bad to get much discussion when it happened. Just one of those things. I hope when he does return he's 100%. I think Dumont getting his bell rung early last year affected him a long time.

Get well soon Lombardi.

I have a question, I know we all agree Trotz found magic in a bottle with the SHORe line. When Lombardi comes back what should the 2nd line look like?

I was discussing this with my brother the other day. Which one of our centers gets bumped down to the 4th line? Goc is playing too well to make this an easy decision IMO. I wonder if Lombardi can play wing? Or maybe Lombardi plays limited 4th line minutes at center until he gets his grove back?

I think Lombardi will be "eased" back in if we are playing well, but if we are struggling he'll go right back on a scoring line as soon as he can.

Goc will drop back to the 4th line. hes playing better than expected but he's still not really a "scoring line" center
